DB Victor Hampton (5-10 175) of Darlington has scheduled two official visits and as a result, he will see USC in action twice. Hampton will take an official visit to Tennessee October 31st when the Vols play the Gamecocks. And he will take an official visit to USC November 13th when the Gamecocks play Florida, the team he was committed to earlier this year before dropping that pledge. Hampton also wants to visit Miami. He's also hearing from Clemson, North Carolina and Georgia. He said Clemson was actually the first school to offer him after the last game of his junior season. Hampton has been to games at USC, Clemson and Tennessee, and the Gamecocks and Vols are his top two "because those are the two I'm communicating with right now." Ellis Johnson and and Lorenzo Ward have been recruiting Hampton for USC and he likes what he has heard from them. "They want to prepare me for the next level," he said. "My goal is to play in the NFL. And seeing that they do play their freshman, that's got me interested, too." Hampton was born in Florence and lived in Timmonsville. He moved to Charlotte and played for Independence High before transferring to Darlington just prior to this season. He sat out the first part of the season and has played in the last three games. As a junior he had about 50 tackles and 10 interceptions. He has been chosen for the Army All American Game.
