'10 NY PF Tobias Harris

We really need another big for depth next year. Pinkston would fit perfectly. I don't trust Woolridges development and Negedu would possibly still be out. With that in mind, has it been confirmed his career is over or is that still in question?

That's the problem. Pinkston doesn't want to be "depth," and I don't think he really would be.

Negedu's career is over, I believe

With our style, the backups play as much as the starters. With the loss of Chism, Smith, and Negedu, we will only have Hall and Williams for next year at the 4 and 5.

If he's as good as many thinks he is he will get serious playing time. How confident are you that Pearl will straighten out the issue?

I understand, but that's on the coaches. If they can't make an elite recruit realize they will play 15-25 minutes from the get-go in our system, they are doing something wrong.

If Tobias signs with UT today as expected, it's going to be very difficult. Possible... but very difficult.

Hopefully Hopson will stay another year. If he goes we will have even more depth issues.

Honestly, I hope Scotty puts himself in a position to make the jump to the league after this season.

One of the few remaining knocks on Pearl is that he can't put players in the league. Scotty and Tyler in the NBA could potentially put recruiting over the hump.

Agreed, if Scotty plays to his potential this season we could make a final 4 run. I am just concerned about depth for next year. We should still have a very good starting 5 next year, but depth is lacking.

I agree with the above about Scotty and Tyler.

The mere thought of being "depth" behind Tobias probably disgusts Pinkston, now that I think about it. But, as all have said, there would be plenty of minutes every night for Pinkston. I hope Bruce can convince him of this.

If we do get Tobias, (technically, we either already have him, or we don't), and have a big season, perhaps we can get in the mix for some other guys in the Spring.

Don't get me wrong. If Scotty isn't ready for the NBA... it'd be huge to have him back.

Without Scotty:

1. Goins/ Golden
2. McBee/ Bone
3. Tatum/ McRae
4. Tobias/ Woolridge
5. Hall/ Williams

That's obviously just a shot in the dark. Hopefully Pinkston will eventually be added.

If it is all about ego and spotlight maybe JayVaughn will still be at TN. He needs to meet Ernie and Bernie and know that he will have his own press conference after the new year where he will announce he is taking up a spot in the incoming class for the surging Vols.

They will use Tatum and/or McRae at the 2 before they would even consider starting McBee or Bone, IMO.

Not to mention we will still sign 1-2 more players. Pinkston and Selby have to be the top 2 choices, though Selby is a very longshot.
