'10 NY PF Tobias Harris

haha dude he's so out. lotto pick if he keeps this pace. what are you talking about? the nba drafts on potential alone look what he did in one offseason, he'll go before john wall does.

I know Hopson has looked great against a few pathetic teams, but John Wall would be in the NBA now if it wasn't for the new rule. Hopson has a long way to go before you can claim he'll get drafted before a guy just about every analyst in the country is drooling over. Hopson is rarely talked about. That matters when it comes to the NBA draft. It's all about hype and potential.

NOT gonna happen. If he leaves for the NBA after this season, he's committing career suicide. After the 2010-11 season I could maybe see. Not this year.

Buddy, I hope your right, i really do. Nowadays, if players are anywhere close- they will go! Ask Jrue Holliday and Demar Derozan and other guys that werent ranked as highly as Hopson. (Im not sure, they might be higher in some rankings, just go with me on this one boys and girls).

Trust me men, this is Scottys Team. Pearl made that clear to T smith when he decided to return, Scotty is going to be an All american and if he gets the opportunity, he will go. Hes gonna make us all proud this year.

Then, mark my words, Tatum will be an all SEC player.

The day Tatum is an all SEC player is a sad day for the SEC. Tatum can't play at this level. Plain and simple. I think McBee is going to take minutes from him this year. Or at least I hope. I'm tired of seeing Tatum get burned on defense and turn it over on offense.

Let me translate

"I didn't watch a damn minute of the game last night"

I watched the entire game. Just in case you weren't aware, UNC-A isn't in the SEC. That is a great barometer for a player though, when a team beats the other one by 75 points. Excellent point.

True...but the season is what...2 games old? Let the kid play a little this year.

I totally agree. Hey, I hope he is the Naismith player of the year. I'm just saying it's a bit early to say Hopson is going to be the #1 pick in the draft. It's a long season.

Since you watched the entire game you saw McBee go 1-6 right? He's a UT player and a local kid so I'll cheer for him and wish him nothing but the best, and hope he can help our team in one way or another, but to say that Tatum can't play at an SEC level yet McBee can is absurd. All I've heard is "this kid can fill it up", "he's lights out from 3", etc yet he's done nothing so far against inferior opponents. I'd admire his dedication and willingness to walk on and earn a spot, but his offer list of Marshall and Santa Clara coupled with the fact he played 1-A ball in East TN (zero competiton) tells me all I need to know about his skills/ability to compete at a high level in the SEC. FWIW I do believe Tatum lit a top 10 Gonzaga team up for 22 last year at TBA, hitting 5 or 6 from three, as a RS freshman.

Tatum is a solid 3 point shooter and should play as many minutes as possible. He is going to be crucial for our success this season.

So the fact that Skylar McBee couldn't hit an open shot and looked lost for most of the time he was out there, but Tatum looked great the entire game doesn't matter, because UNCA is terrible. Good logic.

I am not saying McBee won't be good, but he is not even close to Tatum right now.

We've played two games and McBee is a walk-on true freshman. How about we calm down? I hope they both succeed, I've just never seen it from Tatum. He's careless with the ball in his hands, very inconsistent shooting, and he is a liability on defense.

Tatum is on the team to hit open jumpers from the perimeter. I think McBee is a better pure shooter and will serve that role better as time goes on. Again, I've got nothing against Tatum, I just don't think he is consistent enough.

Scotty will not leave for the NBA after this season barring any world changing event that isn't visible in the future..

And neither am I. I said I think McBee will take some of Tatum's minutes as the year goes on. One game doesn't make a player. I saw Tatum play equally as bad in the exhibition games, against even more inferior competition.

We have more talent than we know what to do with. It's a good problem to have.

And what is it that Wall has done?

These threads are kind of annoying. I was hoping to read some Tobias Harris stuff. Instead I just got 2 pages of speculation about Scotty Hopson. Oh well, maybe it will get back on track.

Tobias, come to God's country

Absolutely, come on down. Good way to put it.
