'10 OH QB Andrew Hendrix

Do we have to keep dwelling on the Boyd situation? I'm sure Kiffin does have regrets about the situation, but the past is the past...

i would agree with you if it was like 3 years ago or something. but it was pretty recent if you ask me.

its july. we gotta talk about something

He's not at UT, not worth talking about, it just gets old. Same ole "what if's" again and again.

I mean we can go back and forth but no Boyd is not a pro-style guy. He is not a student. He is an athlete. Scroggins is a student, Sims a student, Rettig a student. I do not know the guy no but in todays world with all the interviews and quotes and the fact he made an 18 on his ACT (That is basically illiterate). Boyd is a spread QB period. He was Clawson's type of QB.

This responds to you as well Sab. Kiffin has no regrets and nor should he on letting Boyd go. I cannot understand why you think Boyd would help at all. He would never beat out Stephens or Lamaison in a pro-style.

Boyd is not a spread QB, just because he's fast and had a low ACT score doesn't mean he's a spread QB. He had the mechanics, the arm, he could definitely beat Lamaison, because Lamaison doesn't have anything that Boyd doesn't also have, except two wasted years of eligibility.

If he is not a spread/running QB then he is a WR. There are no other options. I mean how will he learn the plays? How will he read Ds? I could guess and make an 18 on the ACT. He committed to WV at first. What is their offense? And what was Clawson trying to run? I think he ran with his QBs a lot not a spread but a running QB offense? Help me out? If you are going to answer and say Clawson liked to pass more then run go look at the film at Richmond. Spread type running QBs is what you will see.

IIRC you make a 13 if you literally put C for every answer.

Then again, a 13 would be an improvement for some of the players we've signed in recent years.

Moeller put 45 points up on the board this past week, and here's how Andrew Hendrix contributed to the cause:

He was 10-22 for 89 yards with 0 TD's and 0 INT's...

Wow... At least he has a strong arm...

You recall his stats from last year? Truckload of Int's? There are issues there.

He did better than Rees. ND has quite a qb class this year.:birgits_giggle:

I was at the game. Hendrix was very unimpressive but that is no surprise to people in Cincinnati who have seen him play his entire career. Big-time overated prospect.

And of those 45 points Moeller scored, 28 of them were on defense and special teams.

In actuality they should have lost the game to Winton Woods.

The best player on the field in that game was without a doubt the Winton Woods QB Dominique Brown (6'3 215). He is an outstanding athlete.

I was hoping Hendrix would have a stellar year so Rees would give us a look. I know we are in his ear but Hendrix's performance isn't helping us. Rees is the one I want.

Hendrix will never start at ND. If he does then they are going to be in a world of trouble. The kid just doesn't have it.

He might only complete 40% of his passes, and he might struggle to throw for 100 yards, but at least he's got a strong arm...
