Under Armour All-American athlete DeMarco Cobbs previously named a top ten of USC, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Georgia, Arizona, Florida State and Tennessee. There's been a shakeup amongst Cobbs' favorites. Texas is back in the running and now he's naming eight schools.
"Texas was my top school in the beginning and something told me that I should give them a second look," said Cobbs. "I called and talked to coach Chambers and we hit it off and now Texas is very much back in it." The Longhorns recently lost a commitment from wide receiver Ross Apo (Arlington, Texas/Oakridge).
Additionally, Cobbs now says his top eight includes USC, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, Tennessee, Oklahoma, Texas and Auburn. He expects to narrow the list down to a top five around July 4th wih the Longhorns likely making the cut.
Even more then Scroggins, S. Henderson, Prater, ect?
right now hendersons right there with him, but i want him more than scoggins and prater, think we have a better shot with terry than prater. i have so much confidence in our staffs ability with quarterbacks, that even if we get a couple diamonds in the rough, they will be able to get the job done.
so you are saying they will turn Crompton/Stephens around?
well we have ben over it a 1000 times , last year our QB's were set up to fail by the system pretty much, this year they will be put in the posistion to be able to win. i dont think they are gona be turnd into heisman trophy canidates, but i think they will do ok.
i think they will need a few years with a guy, say we get munchie, i think they could make him into an outstanding SEC qb by his rs sophmore year. we have crompton for 1 more year, and stepehns rozier, possibley lamiason next couple.
I some what agree, the system was aweful but at the same time it didn't make crompton throw those balls to the wrong colored jersey (or the ground).
idt munchie can be a SEC caliber QB.
"Alabama has a tremendous shot of me picking them as my final choice. I have a ton of interest in them, and I hope they do with me as well," said Cobbs whose offer list is a who's who of the nation's top programs including USC, Texas, Oklahoma, Florida among others. "I call Coach Saban regularly. We have talked twice in the past week, and we really rarely talk about football stuff. It is mainly things going on with our lives.
"I watched Alabama's spring game today. It was being replayed on one of the sports channels here in Tulsa, and I saw a lot of three and four-wide receiver sets which really sparked my interest. Coach Saban said they are going to throw the ball around a lot more next year and beyond."

Thats a lie!!! Bama has always been a ground and pound offense. Wonder what Saban said to the RBs."We are going to run the ball a lot more than we have in the past, so you have the potential to see a lot of carries". Are kids that uneducated about the offensive styles of teams that are recruiting them?
