'10 OK ATH Demarco Cobbs

“Being able to develop a good relationship with my position coach,” Said Cobbs. “And I also want a good head coach that has good relationships with his players, and coaches that aren’t all about football, and a team that feels like a family. I’m also looking for a good Christian environment

Dawg Lock?

He needs to talk to Bryce Brown... I think that was important for BB too.

I don't think its that bad. But whats more effective - "Get off the Damn block and ******* lay into that QB!!!" or " Golly gee son I'd sure appreciate it if you'd hustle up there and get that young man back there" ?????

I've heard that Richt already has a baptism and communion setup for when this kid comes for his official visit.

I don't disagree. I would curse every other word if I was on the staff.

Tulsa (Okla.) Tulsa Central athlete DeMarco Cobbs currently favors Alabama over Tennessee, Georgia, Florida and LSU, and Oklahoma now is on the outside looking in when it comes to Cobbs' top five. A family situation has Cobbs wanting to leave the state at this point, but he's not close to making a decision.

rivals.

At least he has the right conference. Now we have to get him to pick the right school. :)

espn at usc camp...

Wide receiver DeMarco Cobbs (Tulsa, Okla./Central) stood out among a average group of 2010 receiver prospects. Physically he is an impressive kid with good height (6-2), solid build and a great wing span. When supplied with catchable passes he caught the ball well snatching it out of the air with his hands.

Jeremy Crabtree at Rivals.com said the following after USC's camp---

If you had the ability to create the perfect receiver, Cobbs would be the end result.

He said, that he has all the physical tools you'd want.

I have been high on this kid ever since I first saw him, so naturally i am thrilled we are in it. Bama has alot of young WRs and that could help us in that area. This one is far from over.

Just having scroggins would do wonders for many players recruitments.
Him and Rettig together would not only help pull talent, but continue a broader pipeline to California talent.

I remember saying before Kiffin was hired that one thing he would bring to the table is California connections (relationships with HS coaches throughout CA, years in the making)...as well as the lure of having a staff chock full of NFL coaches. Those are proving to be true.

Once the play on the field matches up with the hype, our recruiting is really going to take off. I think guys like Jesse like what they see and hear about the staff and all, but until they can measure the product on the field, there is always going to be some degree of hesitancy with many of the top recruits.

USC is his clear leader. Update from USC Camp:

DeMarco Cobbs (Tulsa, Okla./Central) was the top receiver in attendance yesterday but he did not participate today. Instead, Cobbs said he is close to making a decision on his college choice with the Trojans being his clear leader right now.

Per ESPN

USC highlights are up on Cobb.

He looks good, but Markeith Ambles is way better IMHO. Ambles glides when he moves.

The staff won't tolerate his antics or any of the so called bagage you speak of. He will mature real quick as a Vol or he'll end up at Valdosta St somewhere trying to get his life on track.

And thus a scholarship wasted. It's better to go after equally talented players without the red flags. I think the staff will do just that, and take Ambles only if we miss on those guys

Good news! I like the Oklahoma wide outs. We have had a few really do well here and this kid looks like the next in line. Not super fast but he looks like he will be a jermaine copeland type reciever. Just makes plays be physical. All the things that win you ball games.
