'10 OL T.J. Leifheit

Mike Farrell on some other O-linemen's destinations. Just thought I'd put this here due to the discussion.

Arie Kouandjio -- Tough call, I think 'Bama. I think Cal will fade.
James Stone -- I think Tennessee swings him.
Damien Robinson -- Gut feeling is Ole Miss

god i hope we get damien he is my fav olineman we are going after. mike farrell has no idea cuz the kid doesnt say shiz so we can prolly throw the ole miss shiz out the window that is the first time i heard of anything of ole miss with this kid

I want Robinson so bad! but i also like Jawuan James just for the fact i think he de commited from Bama for us.

Andy. Dude, don't just post info like that and not give a source or at the very least say you can't say your source. Or if it is an opinion. Otherwise your info is useless.

Cal losing like they did will end up killin them with a few stud recruits, they better bounce back and beat the real SC.

PS: And by verify, I don't mean someone on a message board saying it. My point was, there's no way to verify a silent commit because if it can be verified then it's not a silent commit.

Sab or Vader, what are your thoughts on this pick?

Olive Branch (which is basically a suburb of Memphis and 45 minutes from Ole Miss for those that do not know) has had some good talent come out in the past few years, yet to my knowledge none have gone to Ole Miss. Even when O was there. The closest thing to a commit I can remember was Cannon Smith, but that sure went south in a hurry. i have heard multiple times that there is a rift between the two.

I do not think that Rivals even shows that we have offered him. I think that this is a UT vs. Alabama fight personally.

Worth noting that Olive Branch has another 1 or 2 kids that are about his size on the OL that are Sophomores or Juniors.

Rivals really has no clue about us being in it with Robinson. They never mention us with him. I do not know why. Hubbs thinks we are in good position for now. Robinson isn't going to make a decision until NSD so it's hard to say what's going to happen with him. He's VERY secretive about his recruitment, even more so than Luc. He rarely picks up the phone, and without hearing from him, no one really knows what's going on behind the scenes. Chad Simmons on Scout thinks we end up with Robinson, and for my money, I would rather have his opinion than anybody else's...

Ole Miss may, in fact, be the leader right now. But with UT and Bama both pressing him for the next 5 months, it will be a tall task for them to keep him in-state. I would keep an eye on LSU here though...

Robinson's former teammate Rod Woodson is a freshman at Bama I believe. Don't if they were tight or how much of a factor he would be...

it seems like every one who comes from olive branch kinda goes in there seperate ways i dont really think that would be a factor for him

I really, really like Leifheit.

Is it just me or do others like Leifheit, D Robinson, and Moses a tad more than James and J Stone? I think maybe James and Stone will need a bit more time - James has a great frame and Stone will be very, very solid, but Moses, Robinson, and Leifheit just look like monsters from both their size and their film.

We could definitely use any of them, however, and I'd love to have them!! I think they all could certainly contribute in the near future.

Also, has anybody seen film of Cullen?

I wouldn't really put James under those guys. Some say he might end up being a top 5 tackle in this class by the time he graduates. His film looks very impressive to me. I would put Stone under all those guys though...

Like I have said before stone has the talent he is just super raw and that was evident last friday. He is extremely athletic i just do not think he has been coached that well

I agree. He just isnt motivated right now, but playing at UT would surely get him fired up. Bama, ND, etc would not be after him if he was not a special talent.:hi:

Plus this is lockin down the boarders!

Article says he visited the game with his father this past weekend. He really enjoyed the trip. He has developed a close relationship with Reeves & Cregg on our coaching staff. He is impressed with the fan base and the turn out for the games he has been to. He is down to three schools: Vols, USC, and NC. His official visit to NC is Oct. 10. On Nov. 1 he will make his decision. He is graduating this Dec.

“It was a blast,” Leifheit told InsideTennessee.com Tuesday night. “I just wanted to get back up there as soon as I could. I had such a great time the first time. I wanted to get back and enjoy another ballgame.”

“I talk to Coach Reaves and Coach Cregg almost everyday,” Leifheit said. “I call them a lot. They keep telling me about the great opportunity to come in and earn a starting job. I really like the coaching staff’s drive to win. I love their energy a lot.”

“He (his dad) liked it a lot,” Leifheit said. “We just wanted to take in another game as soon as we could.”

Per Scout...

I hope we land him. I think his recruitment is kind of like Jeff Luc's we went from everyone saying there was no way we could land him and now alotta people would say the Vols may lead. It is amazing how this staff works :dance2:

I haven't heard anyone say UT leads for Luc, just that we have been moving up the list.

Notice how it says come in & earn a starting job. Even though we have some problems on the OL for next year nothing is still giving to these guys.

The comments he made in that little bit of the article that was posted obviously sounded very positive towards UT. He looks like a UT lean but even if he doesn't end up at UT the staff really seems to be able to get some of these kids to take a long look at us to see what it's all about. I have really been impressed with the work this staff puts into recruiting. The more top prospects we can get on campus the better our chance are to land them.

I'm pretty sure he was talking about Leifheit...

He was, but also referenced how it seemed to parallel Luc's recruitment. I see where SGM is going here and took it the same way. I agree that not many people gave us a shot at Leifheit at first either, but to compare that to Luc I think is a little overstating the similarities.
