"I'm pretty much still solid but I've been at least listening to the other coaches like (LSU linebackers) coach (John) Chavis and (linebackers) coach (Lance) Thompson at Tennessee," Owens said. "My uncle didn't want me to commit in the first place and just wanted me to keep looking and talking to people. I guess I'll take another look at the other schools and be completely sure about everything."
Since his Sept. 6 commitment to Auburn, Owens has taken an unofficial visit to Tennessee and is planning to take an official visit there after official trips to Kentucky (sometime in December) and LSU. He's also been hearing from Clemson as well.
Owens had seven tackles, two sacks and a forced fumble in Jess Lanier's 17-14 win over Bryant. Owens has 62 total tackles (6.9 per game), two forced fumbles and 11 sacks.
Rivals.com rates Owens the No. 3 overall recruit in Alabama and the No. 7 outside linebacker in the country.
Linebacker LaDarius Owens of Bessemer (Ala.) Jess Lanier is looking to visit Tennessee and LSU despite his commitment to Auburn, and the Vols are charging hard. If Tennessee offers his teammate, guard Gabriel Player, then Owens is all but headed to Knoxville. That appears to be a long shot, although Tennessee is showing some interest. In the end, this will come down to Auburn trying to hold off the Vols.
During an earlier interview with TigerBait.com Owens said that Chavis remarked how Owens, who has 4.49 speed, had a similar skill set to that of former Tennessee All-American Jerod Mayo, whom the LSU defensive coordinator coached while with the Volunteers. Mayo went on to earn AFC Defensive Rookie of the Year honors with the New England Patriots last season.
"He's said that I'm the type of player he wants to," Owens said of Chavis. "He wants to get his blitz packages ready and wants me to be a major part of that."
The respect and admiration for Chavis are obvious but Owens said he's not certain what it would take for another school to change his commitment.
"I don't even know," Owens said. "Coach Chavis really had me thinking (in June meeting) because he's a great coach. I followed him when he was at Tennessee and watched their defenses play. He's an experienced coach so I believe he knows what he's doing so that's going to play a big factor."

we already have Taylor and williams. Do you mean two more? I know there has been some speculation about williams but I think Taylor is better than he seems to be rated and would hate to loose him.UT would love to have him. I would love to get him. I think UT wants 2 LBs- Luc and Jones or Luc and Owens, either would be awesome!
I know that he has already committed to AU, but we are still on him pretty hard and have an in-house visit set up. Anyone have a clue on our chances of landing him?
