'10 PREP OL Morgan Moses

I'd be very pleased to see the staff round out our OL recruitment with pledges from Moses, James, and Cullen.

The good thing is, our OL will have a ton of experience by the time '11 and '12 gets here when Oku, Bray, Nuke, Ambles, etc will be juniors and senior...

fyp.

jk... sort of. long ways to go but I really wouldn't be surprised if Brown ended up in the NFL after his junior season.

I've been saying all along that its going to be '11 or '12 before we cant actually see how good Kiffin will be here & how our program is going to be. We got to get these kids that Kiffin is bringing in some experience before we can really start to judge. With the hard schedule we have for '11 i think '12 will be the year we could be BCS bound & win the SEC. This isnt going to be like Bama or Florida people, dont expect us to win 10 games next year or the year after imo. We got to be patient here, & i know thats hard for some people but i really think the patience will pay off in the end. Thats the good thing about being a fan, when you go through the rough times like we are it makes the great times like were going to have even more sweeter.

That offense could really be dynamic, that depth is amazing. Would you care to put a defensive one together like that for '12?

If Marsalis Teague isn't starting in 2012, then he went pro.

The defense is alot harder to do. They move the DBs around so much. This my opinion, assuming we don't get Luc and assuming we get Riley...

DE- Smith, Jr.
NT- Hughes, Sr.
DT- Walls, Jr.
DE- Miller, Jr.
SLB- King, Sr.
MLB- Taylor, Jr.
WLB- Askew, Sr.
CB- Edwards, Sr.
CB- Gordon, Sr.
FS- Jackson, Sr.
SS- Riley, Jr. (Myles here if we don't get Riley)

Backups:
DE- Fowlkes, Bohannon, Copeland
DT- Willis, Jeffrey, Copeland
LB- Mitchell-Thornton, Nelson, Williams
CB-Oliver
S- Waggner, Myles, Wilkes

The depth is not as good here imo. We really need 1 CB and 1 LB in these final 7 spots...

I agree depth doesnt look to good at all. Hopefully we can finish this class up with Riggs or Riley & Luc. Im liking the first wave of the DL & the DT depth.

Remember if we hold on to Anthony Johnson. He will be a stud. And you think by then a Senior Walls will start over a Jr. Willis. Who knows. Always hard to tell that far ahead. Plus there could be a stud come in from a later class that shakes things up, like a Bridgewater type guy that will play right away anywhere.

I agree. I think he would have a good chance of being our starting RG next season...

LT- Douglas
LG- Shaw
C- Pope
RG- Moses
RT- Thomas

I totally disagree with this lineup LV.

We will have at least 2 newcomers starting on the line next year. Moses would definitely be one of them. I also think Cullen or D. Robinson could start right away. And it's no guarantee that Cody Pope would be any better at C than J. Jose or anyone else who can handle another man's hand between their legs 60-70 snaps a game.

LT Douglas
LG Fulton
C Pope / J. Jose (toss up)
RG Moses
RT Cullen / Robinson (whichever commits or toss up if we get both)

So, you're saying that the 1 OL who is starting this year (Shaw) isn't going to start next year? That tells me all I need to to know lol...

I never got your response in the September 1st thread either. I'd love to hear it...

Only thing I see there I dont necessarily agree with is BB being here still as a SR. Honestly, I hope he succeeds to the point that he goes pro after his JR year.....that would mean we have probably won a lot of games riding the BB horse as well.

I think we win 10 games in '11, when the current freshmen this year are Juniors. We will have the amount of talent we need by then. We may not be at the NC Title level yet, but we will definitely have the talent to win the SEC by them (assuming Bray or whoever comes in the '11 class as a QB lives up to the hype).

That's exactly what I'm saying... you have Shaw playing G when he's currently a T... that's all I need to know...

Shaw is a Fulmer left-over. The best players in the Kiffin regime will play. He loves playing freshmen, obviously.

You're telling me a guy (Shaw) who's been playing O-line for years comes out of Fall practice bracketed as a starter with a guy (Douglas) who has been playing the position for 1 Fall camp... is going to somehow switch to Guard... and have no worries of competition from any incoming player we get??

That doesn't add up to me. Give Douglas an offseason, spring, and another Fall as an O-lineman and he will easily beat out Shaw.... oh but wait, you have him moving from Tackle to Guard. Not gonna happen. We can reflect on this next year when I'm right.

As for the "Sep 1st thread" I have no clue what you're talking about. Fill me in and I'll be happy to break it down for you.

EDIT: Found it. Replied. Good job. Next....

Man, you seriously have no clue. Have you seen our depth on the OL next year? We are NOT going to replace our only returning starter with a true freshman. It's not going to happen. Honestly, that would be retarded. Douglas and Shaw are 2 sure fire starters next year. The other 3 spots are up for grabs...

And everybody who I trust is close to the situation says Shaw will make a move back to guard next year. It's almost a given he will be at guard. They will load up the left side side of the line with their best players, Shaw and Douglas. You need to pay a little more attention before you call me out...

I was paying attention. Shaw will not start next year. 1 returning starter is not going to make any difference. He will play, but he will get beaten out before game #1. If it's not his lack of talent at Guard, he will eat himself back out of playing time.

Our line is going to be thin no matter what we do. We will play freshmen early (especially post-hs grads like Robinson and Morgan). I could easily see J. Jose starting at Center and playing Pope at Right Tackle and starting 2 newbie guards, not necessarily high school guys (i.e. Morgan, Robinson). I think Robinson would be a better tackle but so would Shaw, in my opinion.

I'd rather build a cohesive offensive line for the future rather than playing 1 guy simply because of his seniority / previous playing experience. That's something Fulmer would do.:birgits_giggle:

^i agree!!! fulmer was a turd but he worked like heck!

I don't know whether Shaw will start next year or not. I do know that he is being pushed hard by Douglas at RT and I don't know think it's necessarily that Shaw has been playing poorly, I think it's because Douglas has come on so well. He will replace Scott next year at LT, I think that will be almost certain.
