'10 PREP OL Morgan Moses

So, since this thread is about Moses . . . is there anything new on him. I just still see him as a project, but I'm not a coach. I'll take him for sure because we need some big ole uglies.

This guy depends on what UVa does with a coaching job. He is a big Groth supporter and loves his as a coach. If he is fired, look for UT to jump in.

What is crazy to think is how UVA has produced to stellar top 5 prospects to the NFL (Jake Long and D'Brickashaw Ferguson) and yet the continually blow. They must have no supporting cast what so ever. Maybe Ferguson is what makes Moses so attracted to UVA . . . minus the fact he is down the road.

This week Shaw is starting at Guard and Douglas is starting at Tackle. HI!... :eek:lol:

And why? Because Vlad is hurt.... we're thin at OL so Shaw is the obvious answer and move Douglas to T.

I said he won't be starting next year and I stand by that.

I think we all know this man. Plus, as a reference to X's article, he says people say we may be his leader as we speak.

You said he wouldn't be a guard, liar. Period. Now he's a guard and you look stupid and you're trying to make excuses. Just quit while you still maintain some slim amount of dignity.

Shaw and Brimfield have the upper hand on being the starting guards next year. No question.

you have him moving from Tackle to Guard. Not gonna happen. We can reflect on this next year when I'm right.
How about we reflect on it now when you're clearly wrong. Wasn't expecting that so soon were ya?? Some people know what they are talking about generally. You'd be wise not to make a fool of yourself pretending you are one of those people.

Uhhh, the reason he's a Guard is because of an injury!! Haha, he'll move back when Vlad is available.

He might go back to Guard when we don't HAVE any next year haha... but he'll get beat out by a newcomer.

Pope may end up starting at guard next year if Revis shows some huge improvement or McNeil gets a 6th year over Brimfield though.

I think Shaw is pretty much locked into that starting LG spot though.

I don't think Revis is the answer anywhere. He's there for depth. Hood has a good chance of making an early contribution -- possibly at center. Pope is a possibility, but we will have more athletic, more talented linemen on campus. Hard to say for sure what will happen.

Ha ha, you're wrong. Shaw's natural position is guard. We've known that for some time, you just haven't been paying any attention.

"Monday I had a talk with coach Cregg and he said basically that coach Kiffin wanted me to make a move inside, I guess to help get the best people on the field," Shaw said. "Getting A.D. (Douglas) in there and getting him some quality reps in the game. Getting me some reps at guard. He basically told me that's where I'm probably going to be at next year, so it's good for me to gain some game experience there this year."
The plan is to start Jarrod Shaw at G next year. I don't think anyone is going to unseat him from that position. I'd say it's HIGHLY unlikely.

Hasn't Hood mainly been working at guard? I really haven't heard much about him at all.

And yeah, we have better than Pope, but if we have McNeil back at Center, I don't see anyone really starting over him at guard unless it's a Morgan Moses type.

Really I think the only set spots on the line for next year are
LT: Douglas
LG: Shaw
C: McNeil (If he comes back. Otherwise its probably wide open with an edge to Pope)
RG: Wide open unless we get a Moses type
RT: Probably Dallas Thomas's to lose unless we get some other JuCo transfer

haha, and I respect your opinion!!

I see it like this:

LT Douglas
LG JC / prep school guy
C Jose Jose / Revis
RG Brimfield / JC / prep school guy
RT Schofield / freshman

Well, Brimfield is like Douglas... except has even more work to do this off-season to be able to contribute on the OL. He was moved from DT. Douglas is already showing promise. Brimfield will take some more time but I think during the offseason (today on sportstalk, Kiffin said Brimfield is one of the stronger OL and really good in run blocking, needs pass protection work x 2) he will make a huge jump.

Again, this is my opinion and speculation...

I also think Gerald Jones will never be a good WR. When I say "good" I mean 1,000 yard receiver or the go-to guy. Next year we will depend alot on freshmen WRs and rising sophs. He's more of a start/stop runner (screens, wildcat, etc) and I just don't think he's a good route runner or long strider.

I could be wrong. I hope I am (about Jones). I hope Brimfield is what I think he can be next year.
