'10 SC DT Kelcy Quarles

I think the deciding factors will be that he loves UT and the coaches, USC will fade again and took a beating by UT, and Miller and Willis. Also don't forget that Miller's dad, Corey, was a star player at USC and won a couple of Super Bowl Rings with the NY Giants. That says a lot that he's sending his son to play for Monte and O, and I think the elder Quarles already knows that and it can only help.

Also Smith and Leimoner wiill be Vols. Just what's going around that they are leaning this way. This is going to be a monster class to say the least!

Wrong...Corey Miller's son is at Spring Valley after transferring from a private school called the Hammond School in Columbia, and is an underclassman, freshman or sophmore, I believe . EX-Giant Corey Miller is on the radio a lot and always roots for the Gamecocks. BTW, Kelcy loves the Gamecocks. I don't see him at UT.

A great success would be if we committed. But both of them showing is a very good sign for us tho. His father tells me he is very very interested in us. I would call is a win in our column if they showed. We just need to blow them away.

Here's to hoping that the atmosphere will be good Saturday night. It will be tough though considering it's homecoming and we're playing Memphis. The one thing we have going for us is that it's a night game.

I may be wrong but it's funny how Corey Miller on the radio always talks about Byrnes high school, that town, ect. Just saying.

Kelcy feels an obligation to help the home-state team.

He likes Tennessee more. He knows O and Monte will give him the best preparation for the NFL, and he knows he'd go through a coaching change during his career at South Carolina.

He wants to be a Vol, just doesn't want to disappoint his old man. If his dad is on board, Kelcy will be in Orange.

So does anyone like my rock idea...it bears repeating...

"Coach O has no Quarles with Kelsey being the next great Vol DT"

Not to go all spelling police on you...but, before you paint the rock for the kid, you may want to spell his name right.

The recruiting guru's over on Cockytalk are NOT happy about this visit at all! They are freaking out!

For your enjoyment from Cockytalk.

Pretty sure he will come out of that visit with USC and UT tied.

yea, losing to Tennessee on the field really going to hurt us recruiting. they are relentless over there

One game isn't going to change a recruit's mind .. if we finish strong, we will be fine.

The problem is if we slide .. Then that is when UT is going take advantage.

The reason I say that we will probably be tied is that they have been on his ass all year long and this will be his first visit to a school outside of USC (I think) .. they also have a lot of momentum right now.

I think the problem is that he has been enamored with them the entire time .. He has said in the past that they keep calling his phone and whatnot .. He has considered opening up his recruitment twice now and both times its been Tennessee constantly going after him .. and I have to agree with the Vol fan that said way back that it is his dad that has kept him a Gamecock.

Kelcy's dad will be making the trip with him and it is an unofficial .. Kelcy could end up taking an official there later.

Cross your fingers.

Sounds like they know the deal and if it was up to Kelcy he would be a VOL.

I want the best for my son and if he was ever blessed enough to get athletic scholys from multiple schools to play a sport in college I would want him to go to UT but I would not stop him from going to another school. I would do what's best for him. He has got to have a life after college so as long as he gets a good education and I am no going to have to pay for it I am good. I will use that money on something else.

I second that emotion.

Any truly caring dad would put aside school loyalty if he saw that his kid's best interests went in a different direction. No brainer - unless my kid wants to go to Florida.
