man with our without this guy our d-line will be nasty. especially with coach o coachin them up! d-line will be a force to be reckoned with

Quarles would be huge for this class. The Dline will go from lack of depth to major depth in one year's time. That is the only reason Im worried Kelcy wont come b/c he will have to earn playing time. SCjr is looking at best 7-5, with a shot at 6-6. So that hurts them and it doesnt hurt us that his dad, the one thought to be pushing him to SClite the whole time, will get to experience Knoxville with his son.

Both team will have comparable records
Tn beat SC heads up by a sizeable margin
SC has the in-state advantage
TN has the NFL advantage with Monte and Orgeron
TN has better facilities and more of a rockstar status

This should be a fun one to watch.... If he visits (which he has said he would before and cancelled) I like TN's chances....this kid was all vol during the spring game

I think what helps us even more is that if he and his father begin to see the writing on the wall over at USCjr that SS is heading for the door. Generally, having to go through a coaching change mid college career makes it that much harder to stay on track. Plus there's that gray haired fella roaming the sidelines that might have something to say about KQ coming to Tennessee.

Ronald Powell would qualify as a shock. I wanted he and Uko in the summer and it seems we have no chance with either.

Of uncommitted CA guys left I would say

D Wright is likely to come
J Shirley is possible to come, especially if C Jones goes to FSU
Riley is slight possibility of coming but unlikely
Powell and Uko are definitely not coming.

All in all the haul in CA was absolutely awesome, and this staff will make inroads with CA, TX, FL, GA and everywhere else where there is talent.

Tennessee is Kelcy's leader. Just wants his dad's blessing...that's really all there is to it.

What is the difference between an official visit and an unofficial visit? I know the official is paid for by the school. But what is the difference as far as what goes on? Do they still participate in the same things on gameday, etc?

From what i've read on here, Kelcey is wanting to be a Vol has been for a while but his dad wants him to stay in state & has been in his ear about it for a long time. Thats why he commited to South Carolina. Quarles is coming up with his dad to see if Monte can win his dad over.

I think the deciding factors will be that he loves UT and the coaches, USC will fade again and took a beating by UT, and Miller and Willis. Also don't forget that Miller's dad, Corey, was a star player at USC and won a couple of Super Bowl Rings with the NY Giants. That says a lot that he's sending his son to play for Monte and O, and I think the elder Quarles already knows that and it can only help.

Also Smith and Leimoner wiill be Vols. Just what's going around that they are leaning this way. This is going to be a monster class to say the least!

Idk if we can stress the importance of his father coming. IMO he is who we need to impress more then Kelcy.

So true Sullivan, he's the one that loves USCe. Kelcey wants to be a Vol, imo, and his dad coming could open the door for it to happen especially if he gets to sit and talk to O and Monte for a good period of time.

Agree it is huge news that is father is planning to attend.

Now let's just hope they both show up on Saturday.
