Made an Ooltewah football thread in the high school forum - you two ooltewahvol(s) give me some info. Will be nice having some insiders (for Ooltewah's team) here.

"I really don't like Alabama's campus. I don't like their football team, either." Sounds like he hates bama as much as most of the posters on here.

Mccallie @ Mccallie? My brother played for SD last year and I had the oppourtunity to see the owls a few times last year, JS has a nose for the ball, very physical, and has a team attitude. S.T.U.D book it!

ESPN recruiting has a long ways to go before they get to Rivals/Scout level. They don't include us in a lot of prospects top 5, including players like Michael Dyer. Their rankings are very questionable, and they had Bryce Brown as the second best RB in last year's class.

According to ESPN Prater is the 8th best WR in this class.

If that doesn't kill any credibility, I don't know what does.

I'm sincerely disappointed in the ESPN rankings this year. I really was looking forward to them and the absurdity of them dashed my hopes of them making a positive step toward legitimacy. I love their evals and they have excellent writers, but whoever ranked the players this year must have been snorting draino.

True, Sab. They do have good evals, good articles, and I even like most the videos. I hate to bash ESPN considering this is an ESPN affiliate site, but their rankings are pathetic...

I don't understand why people say that about ESPN. How many people here are actually scouts that can cogently rank a players skill?

Some argue that ESPN may be more accurate because the rankings come out later, leaving more time for evaluation. Also, this list will change as the season moves along.

Rivals is probably the best, but I'm just saying, don't just hate on it because some of your "favorite" recruits didn't get the best possible ranking. Chances are the scouts at ESPN know more than the average guy on this board.

I'll say one thing, there is no way in hell Jordan Hicks is the #2 prospect in the country. He's a very good prospect but if he's the #2 prospect in the country then this class overall is very very weak at the top.
