He wrote on his Facebook earlier today that he was going to either Bama or LSU.

This is his latest update:

" Wow come on now I can get an SEC waiver form and if your really my true friend you would support me no matter what and also If you really knew me you would know where I'm going to spend the next four years of my life"

Per GVX article talking about getting mid-term enrollees back to UT:

The same holds true for Jacques Smith from Ooltewah. The highly rated defensive end returned home Wednesday.

"I never decommitted," Smith said. "I just came home."

I think he might just take the rest of the recruiting period to make sure he makes the right decision. In the end, he'll be a Vol. He just had to take it all in in the comfort of his own home. It was a lot to go through.

FWIW, the add/drop deadline at UT isn't until Tuesday. I'm pretty sure Smith can still sign up for classes and EE at UT if he wants.

I think I want this kid more than any. Has always been a Vol fan. I understand him needing to take time....we really need him. Really hope to hear he is wearing orange next year....soon!

I think you're right.

I must say, I was pretty shocked when I heard he was even wavering. Because he seemed SO committed to Tennessee. But the more I think about it, that may be why he had such a hard time. You invest your heart like he did, and it hurts a little more.

It's also easy to forget that these are kids.

I can't imagine what it would have been like to go through this. Being on campus at the time would have been so hectic, its not even fathomable for most. I'm sure he couldn't leave his room without getting bombarded. At home, he got to take his time. Talk with his parents, grandparents, and friends. A much more comforting place.
