No one argued that Saban couldn't recruit.
But i thought lance thompson and kiffin were building a fence. Maybe, just maybe, it wasn't thompson, but Saban, that has been the driving force for UA recruiting. Who knew? Buzzkiller, huh.
Unfortunately for you guys, you are late to the game. You"ll be behind Fla and BAMA until both coaches leave.
Really? U mean folks on here didn't think thompson was the reason for BAMA's recent recruiting success? Huh. Could've sworn that you guys went bonkers when you overpaid thompson to come on board.
Let's be real and admit that you guys are screwed until Saban leaves BAMA and meyer leaves Fla. The latter seams to be the quickest probable outcome!

It's different recruiting Bama than Tennessee. All the Bama kids have grew up loving Bama. Alot of the Tenn kids (especially in Memphis) have grown up wanting to leave the state due to the mes Fulmer has left us in. It will take a few years for this staff to put a fence up...
Saban is a very good recruiter and coach. Anybody who disagrees is lying to themselves. I think he's the 3rd best recruiter in the nation behind Butch Davis and Pete Carroll and Carroll is the only person I would have above Saban in terms of being a head coach. I don't think he will go anywhere anytime soon. He has it made in Tuscaloosa. Top to bottom though, UT's staff is better than Bama's. Monte, Orgeron, and Gran are the best money can buy. Lane can be questioned as a head coach until he does something, but his staff cannot...
Meyer is also a very good coach but his talent is practically handed to him in his back yard. Not much recruiting there. Florida's staff is very solid, top to bottom. I like UT's better, but Strong and Loeffler are very good...

What happens when your gun misfires about three times this year. Will you and your Bama brethrens want to hang him from the nearest tree! What happens if he doesn't go 12-0.:birgits_giggle:good post, but I'd take a proven head coach that can recruit than a staff that can. There is a reason he is a head coach!
Don't get me wrong here, I, more so than my fellow BAMA brethren, know that Saban is a hired gun. He just happens to be the best hired gun around and seems to be happy to be where he is.
Bama fans are eccentric and so is Saban! Perfect fit, for now!

Saban has his fair share of talent too. Its not like he has to national recruit like we do either.
I wasn't talking about our staff recruiting. I was talking about our staff coaching. There is no question that Saban is the better head coach. But there is also no question that UT's staff is better...
He may not have to, but he definitely does. Look at his 2010 class so far. Only 5 of his 13 commits are from AL, and the out-of-staters aren't scrubs either (Phillip Sims, Blake Sims, Juwuan James, Keiwone Malone, Cade Foster). Meanwhile, Meyer has 12 commits and 10 of them are from FL...
The guy knows how to recruit and build teams. Do you remember LSU before Saban got there?... Yea, me neither...
we will see come september:good!:Monte- top 2 or 3 def coordinators in NFL history
Orgeron- best DL coach in the nation hands down. top 10 recruiter, credited by Pete Carroll as rebuilding the USC program
Gran- coached 9 NFL RBs, one of the top 2 or 3 recruiters in the most talent rich sections of the country
Chaney- coached Brees and Orton at Purdue, solid coordinator in the NFL
Lane- put a ton of WRs in the NFL as WR coach at USC, had two #1 classes as recruiting coordinator at USC, was off coordinator for the greatest offense in CFB history
Thompson-knew where the best staff was and joined up, recruiter of the year last year
Wilson- took a perrenial losing high school team and built them into state champions, is treated like a God in New Orleans
Wow, dude. You're embarrassing the rest of us with your fudging of facts and your delusions about Florida's success being about one player. Please refrain from discussing things you are not informed about. Guess that pretty much excludes you from posting though...Get serious dude. We aren't Auburn. Saban and Meyer let you know how much they respect/fear this new staff by what they were telling recruits at the end of last season's recruiting class. Saban was telling certain guys he'd pull their schollies. The writing is on the wall Bama suckers. And Florida will be done after Tebow. Meyer will leave after Tebow leaves too. So it's been a nice run rivals but the Vols a back and on the attack.

That's still 4 more instate players than we have committed. There's no question that Bama is helped by their instate talent. Take a look at last year. Not only are they landing the instate guys, the instate guys are freaks.I wasn't talking about our staff recruiting. I was talking about our staff coaching. There is no question that Saban is the better head coach. But there is also no question that UT's staff is better...
