Tennessee isn't a hotbed for football recruiting year in and year out.

in the 2010 and 2011 classes..you could get 10-12 very good D-1 caliber players instate....that is 1/2 your class and you cherry pick everybody else...

the state is very underrated

Barton Simmons says Vandy and Bama lead for James Stone and that ND is in there too. Says Tennessee is on the outside looking in.

There has been good players come out of Tennessee. The problem is Fulmer failed to identify the talent. Hightower should have never been allowed to leave the state. Greg Hardy is another one. But Fulmer seemed like he got caught up in the stars game.

Compared to FL and GA we have hardly any talent. To keep up with GA and bama we have to go after the best.

I actually think TN is a lil more on the inside track to Stone more than people think. I dont think he honestly has a leader right now.

I think Stone will end up in knoxville. After losing Marlon Brown the days of just letting other schools come into Memphis and Middle TN and take players are going to end. Ed Orgeron will make sure of that. Also Thompson basicaly done the same thing for Bama in Mobile/Lower Alabama.

I think UT will go very hard after Malone (Bama Commit), Maclin, and Stone and I think we will end up with all of them in the end. It is personal to EO. He won't be happy any other way.

It says he was impressed and really liked it up there. He also liked the intensity of the coaches and that is what stood out most.

I like this kid and we need some nice OL commits. Hopefully he can be swayed over to the "orange and white side".

I don't know about you guys - but IMHO - this guy (along with Jacques before he signed) is a MUST get for CLK and company.
