Along the offensive line, the sudden commitment of five-star James Hurst to North Carolina has Georgia scrambling a bit. The Bulldogs expected to be a major player for Hurst and few expected such an early decision (or that his brother from Mississippi State was transferring to UNC), so look for Georgia to turn up the heat on Nashville (Tenn.) Maplewood tackle James Stone.
"They have turned it up for me," said Stone. "I did not get but a few letters from them before, now I get more from them than ever. They have started recruiting me pretty hard," Stone added.
"I do not have plans to visit Georgia yet, but I am going to try and get down to Athens at least once or twice," said Stone.
In addition to Georgia, Stone mentioned Tennessee, Alabama, Stanford, Notre Dame, Vanderbilt and LSU as some of the other schools recruiting him the hardest since the beginning of the evaluation period. The Nashville native also said Alabama, LSU, Tennessee and Texas Tech have also come out to see him in the spring. These schools know there is a long way to go until they find out which lucky school gets Stone.
Per Rivals... Georgia is starting to come hard after Stone. The opening paragraph of this article takes a shot at Kiffin too, talking about how even though he recruited 8 GA players to the Vols last year, he wasn't able to keep the top 2 TN prospects in-state and the Dawgs got both of them...
Coach Searels came up to my school, talked to my coach and said hello to me as well.
