With or without the gun problem?

Plax had a permit for that weapon in Florida. IIRC. It was an accidental discharge and honestly there are a lot of players that carry them. This whole fiasco is stupid. Just another way to tax players and pump up the government muscle.

I think someone posted in another thread that New York doesn't recognize gun permits from other states. Don't know if that's true or not. But I agree that it's stupid either way.

Just don't want us to sign Jerry and then have him shoot himself in leg. :eek:k: I was just joking around anyways.

I think it's more of the fact that Plax was stupid enough to have the gun in a bar, while drunk, hanging in the waistband of some sweatpants.

One has to wonder what type of offense that school runs though. They may not pass it much, which would make it hard to make a real determination on this guy. Something tells me that during the next evaluation period that we do.

The thing is though, if it was a run heavy offense, HS's are going to put their best players at QB and RB. If they rarely throw it, why put the better players at WR?

If Kiffin offered this guy, it would go against every thing he stands for. I remember when Coach O said they dont want to offer a guy who's gonna ride the pine for 4-5 years. I say pass on him!

The Commercial Appeal put out their "Most Wanted" list earlier this week. It basically list the top rated FB kids from around Memphis. It had about 20-25 kids on there and Anderson is no where to be found. Just shows you where he is on their radar.

Another point is that I seriously doubt USC or Florida offer him either, making it one of those situations where Scroggins is going to have to commit somewhere without him anyways.

I read the commerical appeal online and I must have missed that article. Do you have a link to it? I can't seem to find it.

If it takes offereing his cousin to sway Scroggins, then let it happen. I'm sure he can be coached up like any other player we have on the team. If he has an ounce of talent our staff will improve on that. I'm sure we could find somewwere for him to contribute.

Who says that you have to score every time you catch the ball? If this kid can give me 5-7 yards consistantly ill sign him and get Jesse as an added bonus.

ya lets be honest he's not that impressive. hes's frail, not real explosive, theres hardly any yac on any of those catches, no speed and he looks soft. and did they really show him blocking? if your gonna do that he better be throwing the db across the field, not playing patty cake with them.

I read somewhere that Kiffin was on the sportsanimal and said that he doesn't do package deals.

Yeah, maybe they could just make him a prefered walk on. He can get the lottery scholarship and still get school paid for. If he proves to be a SEC player he could be offered a scholarship later.

LWS said in another thread that if you play football and accept academic scholarships, you still count against the 85 scholarships/25 per year.

I don't know why so many people thought Scroggins would leverage the coaches with Anderson. He is certainly someone they should evaluate as an in-state WR, but people should stop thinking Scroggins won't come without Anderson.

Brent Hubbs just said as much on his board---

That's not right or fair to Scroggins. His cousin came to town to throw and workout with Jesse because the two had not done that since they were like 6 years old.

That's not a fair notion to imply that Scroggins is trying to hold Tennessee hostage or force their hand with his cousin.
