Still somewhat raw, but has a very impressive offer list and is considered by some to be the top linebacker prospect in Texas this year.

Tennessee, Texas, Oklahoma, LSU and Florida have all offered, in addition to several other schools.

Staffs can make one call per week to rising seniors during May. Nelson told Jeff Tarpley at AggieYell.com that Tennessee was one of several schools, that had called him this month, in addition to stopping by the school to check out a Raiders practice.

Nelson is currently ranked #39 overall in the Rivals 100, as well as the #3 outside linebacker in the nation for the 2010 class, behind only Jordan Hicks and Khairi Fortt.

""I have no leader, but a top ten in no particular order," Nelson said via text this week. "In no particular order – Oklahoma, Texas A&M, Texas, LSU, Oklahoma State, Stanford, Michigan, Tennessee, Oregon and the last one is a question mark as to who I am interested in, but there are no particular leaders, just a top ten."

Under Armour All-America linebacker Corey Nelson (Dallas/Skyline) is focused on five schools right now.

"The five are Oklahoma, Texas, LSU, Texas A&M and Stanford, in no particular order," Skyline recruiting coordinator and defensive backs coach R.J. Bonds said. "Just on the outside looking in, we have Oregon, Tennessee, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina and Oklahoma State."

Corey Nelson, one of the top linebacker prospects in the 2010 class, plans to hit the road this summer in search of the right program - ESPN

I also edited the OP to include a recent video added to the ESPNU site.

We're hearing a lot of Oklahoma. The Maclin commit to LSU really changed things...

I have talked to someone who knows him pretty well and he said he would be shocked if he went anywhere other than Texas but if he did it would be OU or LSU but he doesnt expect him to leave the state.

He says there is a reason that he is taking visits to Texas A&M, Oklahoma and Stanford and not the other two (Texas, LSU).

"I would have to say that those are the schools that I'm most comfortable with," Nelson replied. "I see those schools as having more interest in me and me in them."

He actually says that those programs could be considered a top three.

he had us listed as low interest on scout then it went to no interest again. I think he is gonna take his officials and if he takes them then we will prob get a visit from this guy

This is absolutely huge news if Nelson takes a visit. Elite prospect.

Montrell Hardy knows best. This guy's film is very impressive. He is a 5-star on scout, for all you star gazers. I'm surprised there's not more excitement over this guy considering how we don't have a lot of realistic LB recruits outside of Luc and C. Jones--and it's an important area of emphasis this year. This guy is a top-tier LB and arguably has as high a ceiling as Luc/Jones considering his speed and hitting ability. His size is his main negative and he's probably bigger than some of our best LBs were coming into college in the Chavis era (Wilson, Raynoch, Westmoreland).

Agree. He is a very high motor guy who gets from sideline to sideline with ease. Plus he is a true Outside Linebacker...much in the mold of Rico McCoy.
