'10 TX OG Dalvin Glass

I thought Glass was a done deal? Have we backed off? Did he back off? We need depth on the OL...

hmmm I say scour the country for some walk on DTs that can earn a scholarship. We have a good class of OLs now. Fulton, Pair, James, Stone.

Yeah but Glass would be another depth guy, plus he has the size to move to defense (DT) if he is athletic enough!

And if he was a fall back guy, we need to get him!

this guy is a mystery...cant get hubbs or james bryant to answer a question about him. seems nobody knows whats up.....and hubbs (or one of the rivals guys, i cant really remember) wrote an article the other day that i think said hinshaw was suppose to visit him on wednesday...? (today?).....confusing

It takes 2 games and 2 odd plays for a depth guy to be suddenly 4 and goal with the game on the line. We need him.

This kid is known to want to wear the Orange. We need kids like this.

Glass was a contingency plan. We have 4 good OL in this class..and are in pretty decent shape. If you want to worry, direct it toward DT where it is most needed.

Don't think we can visit. It's a dead period until the 4th.

I do not disagree but we have room to take him and it never hurts to have depth. Who knows, one of those OL could turn into a good DL.

I still think this guy may sign, maybe not today but maybe this week. Could be wrong but just a feeling.

Hubbs doesn't think so. Says we like where we are with the OL we got. I guess he could always be wrong and he has been before, but he usually isn't.

Also...just cuz you can get 25 guys every year, doesn't mean we need to. You don't get 100 scholarships and if we get 25 guys every year, then that is over what we'd be alloed based on aguys staying for 4 years. I know there is some waste, and NFL guys, but there is a larger number to consider when recruiting.

Under a normal situation this would be true. Considering UT isn't near the scholarship limit I think increases the need for depth players. Also a few of the current players may transfer in the spring or some get kicked off the team for grades, possible legal issues, etc. If this was a team that was stable and had continuity I would agree with you.

Better to save that scholarship for next year when the staff has had time to recruit. it's doubtful that glass would see the field much here anyway.
