'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

looks like Cal will get a commit from Austin Hinder in the near future and since tedford never takes 2 qbs in the same class (and usually stops recruiting other qbs after the first commit) my guess that means we are out of the running for heaps.

i really do think we get heaps after looking at their depth chart...they have like 5 scholly QB's on the roster....locker is a jr this year and he will be the man next year as well..heaps will come in..have to sit out a year and then battle with 4 other qb's

if he comes to TN...if is a guaranteed #2 on the roster at QB and he has the skills to give stephens a battle

I am not so worried about our QB for this class. If we dont get Heaps, our fall back is Scroggins, if by some turn of events we dont get him, our fall back is Hendrix. I am pretty sure we will get Heaps or Scroggins tho.

Mike Ferrell Just said that BYU leads for Heaps, but he has been wrong lately.

Speaking of people who have been wrong lately...:lolabove:

Ha, just messing with you matt. I logged on and read the thread before it disappeared this morning. funny stuff.

On topic, we get Heaps.

There’s a story out there that Jake Heaps was snubbed by ESPN’s recruiting service for failing to switch his commitment from the Army All-American game to the Under Armour All Star game which takes place on the same day.

Anyone have any idea why UT didn't go after Hinder? He seems to fit the mold of what Kiffin likes, but we never really showed any interest. thoughts?

This kid will be great. Smart. He just needs to add about 20-30 pounds to be NFL ready. In addition to becoming a Vol.

Good humor, Matt.

This is amazing. Brent has called Heaps multiple times every day over the past couple of weeks according to him, but Austin finally got him on the phone.

Austin is cool as hell BTW.

Went to high school with austin at morristown east. Good guy. He has always been a recruiting freak. He was a grade ahead of me but I remember him showing me highlights of the next great back at ut. Lol it was jabari davis. His high school tapes were ridiculous. Too bad it didn't happen.

Anything new regarding Jake Heaps?

I like to BS as much as the next person but three pages talking about Matt's thread is just too much!

Geez lets get back track with this thread.

I really hope we get this kid. His film is great, he is a winner and in all his interviews he seems to have his head on straight. They talk about QB's needing the "it" factor and I think this kid has it in spades.

ESPN.......
Notes
North Carolina, BYU, Oregon State, Colorado, Notre Dame also in final 10... Hopes to enroll early... 2008: Washington ESPN Rise Gatorade Football Player of the Year. Class 4A Player of the Year. Class 4A First Team All-State... 2007: Completed 202 of 336 passes (60.1-percent) for 3,095 yards, 31 touchdowns and seven interceptions... Rushed 95 times for 409 yards (4.3 average) and 14 touchdowns... Also recruited by: Miami-FL, Washington State, South Carolina, Arizona State, Minnesota, Nebraska, Duke, Boise State...

Seattle Times....
His time is short. He wants to pick a school by the start of his senior season, and like many elite prospects, Heaps might try to graduate from Skyline a semester early and enroll in college in January 2010 to be a part of spring camp.

Dont know if this has been said yet but the new guy over on scout made a good point and said that if religion isn't a factor, and he truly cares about winning, he will probably come to UT.
