'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

Anybody that thinks Scroggins is more talented than Heaps is either a Scroggins homer or is a pitiful judge of qb talent!

i think either one needs to make up their mind soon, because if we actually are a top choice for these kids then the only thing holding them back is the distance from home. either that or a female influence....that's all.

Heaps is more polished and could assume the starter's role much quicker.

Scroggins looks like a hybrid Vince Young/Randall Cunningham/Jason Campbell/Mike Vick.

Heaps looks like a hybrid Drew Brees/Tom Brady/Peyton Manning.

Both could be great here. Much better than if we had signed Josh Nunes, who reminds me of Jeff Garcia.

i just watched youtube videos of scroggins and heaps, for the first time, and let me tell what i think.i think heaps looks so much like peyton that it is scary.he could really be the real deal.scroggins is ok,but i dont think scroggins isnt as accurate as heaps.and not as strong as an arm as heaps, and would really like to see us get that willams kid to,looks like a playmaker.but thats just my opinion.

Heaps is a better/older version of J.D. McCoy. I think this kid is going to be really good at the next level.

Watch the videos of both qbs closely and you will see a major difference. as soon as the play starts scroggins head turns towards his number one reciever and he either throws to that reciever or he runs. he's not reading the defense or going through his progression. heaps....especially in his junior yr highlights is learning to not telegraph his passes as much and look for his second and third reciever when his #1 is covered. scroggins also has a much longer throwing motion which allows D lineman and backers a better chance to get a piece of the ball.

Getting Scroggins would make me happy, but I would rather have Heaps. Getting the Hendrix kid from Ohio would be okay too. I believe that kid has flown under the radar but his stock is getting ready to go through the roof. I really believe he will make a very good QB at the next level.

Nice post. This caused me to watch both videos and really break down them.

Heaps is more polished, no question, but he did stare at his target some too. I did see him look of the safety and check down to his #2 or 3 reciever as earlier said. One worry I have of him is that all of his snaps were from the shotgun so we have nothing to see how he looks when he is under center. Heaps' balls were on target and very well thrown. I really liked how he squared his shoulders to the line of scrimmage when he was rolling out. Scroggins has more potential then Heaps tho. I too saw Scroggins check down multiple times. There was some video of Scroggins under center and he looked comfortable, so no worries there. My worry about Scroggins is that there were some passes that he threw that would have been intercepted (the long out route for example). Scroggins' passes were off target some on is deep ball, but he allowed his reciever time to run under it. Overall, I would give the lead to Heaps, but Scroggins is a very close second. Thats JMO.

Note: Matt Barkley didnt throw in ANY of his combines last year before his senior year because he felt he wasnt at his best. Heaps did and wasnt at his best thus his ranking dropped. IMO this is why Heaps is rated so low, but once the season starts, look for Heaps to rise in the rankings.

Shouldn't one of these guys commit soon? I would think a Qb would want to give a verbal early to help bring in the top talent to surround himself with. Any clues to when we can hear from one of these guys?

here is my take on things. I would take Heaps out of the two.
