'10 WA QB Jake Heaps

Each school has their Pro's and Con's: UW is close to home, but not really a program that puts out top recruits. BYU his sister goes there, and it's a Morman school which has it's appeal for him, but he will need to be put around a better cast of players. Also, the competition isn't that good in he WAC. UT is far from home, but the appeal of playing top SEC talent and also being coached by the best coaches that will help him get to the NFL.

First off, BYU is in the Mountain West which is improving it's level of competition. Secondly, BYU generally brings in a good supporting cast on the offensive side of the ball...big offensive linemen and running backs from your neck of the woods. And lastly, BYU generally does well with coaching up QBs. BYU may have more draw than you think.

this is true...nice rebuttal :good!:

i like what he continues to say about UT. we are in this til the end. hopefully we land a victory out of this high school star.

on paper the idea of multiple wives would seem great. Honestly, one girlfriend is quite the headache. Could you imagine an entire freaking hen house. No danka.

Back on track: Heaps, dude, East TennSC will treat you right. SEC championships and NC abound if you come here

Someone on the radio this afternoon suggested that Heaps is a silent to UW and that Sark is trying to pull Scroggins also. Are we in trouble with Scroggins because of the attention that we have shown Heaps?

Let's stay on topic please.

You're more than welcome to have that discussion, but not in this thread please. If you care to continue it, start a new thread in the pub and I'll move the post's there.

haha, all of that discussion to the eternal resting place for deleted threads and posts. Haha. Well back to Heaps. I guess there isn't too much new stuff on him or the whole debate wouldn't have gotten going

The only new stuff there will be on Heaps is either him trimming his list or committing. I think he's gathered all the info he needs about the programs and is just waiting to fall in love with one of them. Unfortunately I think it will come down to UDub and BYU. Here's to hoping! :toast:

They could not pull that off, not 2 elite qb prospects. Remember this is only a commitment and one would back off before NSD.

Didn't UGA do this last class? Or was one of them not as elite?

I still find it hard to believe that 2 QB's that could go about anywhere they wanted would both choose to go to a program that's won about 10 games in the last 4 years.

I'm struggling with someone struggling with a choice between UT, BYU, and UW.

The Huskies haven't been relevant since.... Ryan Leaf?
It's bad when your best association is an NFL flop.

BYU... well, that's a Mormon choice. It has nothing to do with seeking an NFL career and choosing the best route to get there.

This should be an easy if we really are the final 3 as long as he doesn't over-BJ the choice.

Leaf went to Washington State

Wrong school:Ryan Leaf went to Washington State. UW went to the Rose Bowl in 2001. They were a top 10 team under Neuheisel.

BYU has probably put as many QBs in the NFL as any program in the country.

Okay, you guys beat that post up. Sorry for associating the Wash State flop with UW. :p

So, I suppose I should look it up, but when exactly was UW last relevant?

Also, here's a link to nice summary on NFL QB's (love the photo they choose as it's the image that most people think about when they think NFL QB);

Basically, I'm not sure there is a QB U, but I'd pick USC or a program built in its image. :p

after reading Heaps comments about being a UW fan his entire life and really believing that sark will turb it around, i think he'll end up there unfortunately.

BYU -- "I really love what Coach Mendenhall has done there. They're one of the winningest programs in the country--only seven schools have won more games than them the past four years. I just love the environment there, the offense is great, and obviously it is a school of my faith (Mormon), so that is a positive."

Tennessee -- "Just the whole environment there is amazing. You think you know what SEC football is like, and it's even more unbelievable being there. The fans are really passionate, and they've really put together an all-star staff. When I took my visit, I couldn't believe I was looking across the table at Monte Kiffin, he's such a legend in what he does. They have a pro-style offense that's very USC suited, and it can get you ready for the next level."

Washington -- "They have great coaches, and they really know their stuff. It's my hometown school. I've grown up loving to watch them play. I've been a Husky fan all my life. They've had a few down types of years, but I have a really good feeling about the coaching staff, that they'll be able to turn the place around."

I have read these 3 paragraphs from the Sporting News article today about 50 times, and I can't help but get the feeling he seems more excited about one school more than the others: VOLS, BITCH!!!
