Fort Pierce Central senior Giorgio Newberry is one of the country’s top recruits, but he said Florida suddenly stopped calling him after he made a trip to Tallahassee.
Newberry said he plans to make official visits to LSU, Tennessee, Notre Dame and Clemson. He gets five officials, so one more school could make his list.
One of Newberry’s sticking points during recruiting is that he insists on playing right away, even if it means signing with a rebuilding program.
...he might have trouble overtaking Florida’s pair of true freshman defensive tackles.
...At defensive end, Newberry could be stuck behind Ronald Powell and Lynden Trail for a while.
PaVol, what do u mean that's the most encouraging article u have read? He dosent even mention the Vols. I guess you meant it's encouraging because he wants to play early and the Vols can accomodate him that way.

The Gators are one of many schools to offer Newberry, an all-America defensive lineman, a scholarship and he is interested in signing with Florida. However, he believes the Gators turned on him when he missed Friday Night Lights. He did visit Florida Stare this summer, though, and that sounds like part of the problem
“I don’t know what to tell you about that,” Newberry told PBGametime.com’s Jeff Greer on Tuesday. “I went to Florida State when they had Friday Night Lights and Urban Meyer and everyone and the whole coaching staff took offense. I couldn’t really do anything because I had an injury at the time so I just ended up only going to Florida State.
“They took it the wrong way. I’m still interested, but they just stopped talking to me.”
