'11 FL DE James Wilder Jr.

that is so wrong that its not even funny.
Michael L spoke to James and has had a relationship with him for yrs

here's Justin Wells :
Looks like it's a Gators - FSU battle. Really hard to say what he's going to do.

All I can say is, from visiting Plant HS today, the momentum shift in his recruitment many had talked of regarding the Noles is legit.

You sir are correct.
Three left standing for elite running back / linebacker James Wilder

High four-star athlete James Wilder (Tampa, Fla./Plant) is now only considering Florida, Florida State and Georgia, according to the St. Petersburg Times. His announcement is set for Wednesday August 18th.

"I've slept on it a lot," Wilder said. "Today I'll have FSU in the lead, tomorrow I'll have UF and in three days I'll have Georgia. I just have to make sure I think a lot about it. I've still got a lot of thinking to do in the last seven days."

"It's going to be about comfortability," he said. "The football part is going to take care of itself. I think if you're a good football player no matter where you are you're going to do your thing regardless."

Alabama, Miami-FL, USC, Ohio State, Georgia Tech, Tennessee, Clemson, North Carolina, South Carolina, South Florida, Pittsburgh and Auburn are among his other scholarship offers.
new espn.

he'll still be open to persuasion but right now it's FSU. his family are Noles, a family friend is FSU's WR coach and he's sold on Gran's reputation even though he's a less than ideal back for their Pistol rushing attack.

Of those choices, I pray he picks Florida State... We need Fla. State and Miami to be successful in a bad way

and IC has been to Georgia twice and once with his family since he was at UA.

And my question to all the UGA fans that think that every kid in GA wants to play for UGA and CMR and why all UGA fans think that IC is such a lock why has he not commited to UGA?

Why you are trying to jump into this with that comment. I wasn't saying his visit meant anything just anwsering a question. Anybody wanted to know how many times IC has been to UGA they would have asked.

Why UGA fans are getting so uptight lately amazes me. Very defensive about anything involving a recruit and UGA. Makes you wonder.

Probably because they've had a difficult time locking down their borders.

I thought this thread was about Wilder not Crowell.

Wilder had a dream and god spoke to him and told him to be a Thundering Herd

so in a shock he will pick Marshall

First off last year was the only year I can remember recently that Georgia had problems recruiting in state players. As far as locking down the borders alot of the top HS in Georgia just happen to be closer to other colleges and are on the state lines. For instance Valdosta and Lowdnes are close to FSU and Carver is 45 minutes from Auburn. Georgia fans do not think we can keep every player in state. We knew Ambles, Berry and Vaughters were all going to play else where. We know that K. Green will be a Vol and there are 2 other stars in that same class that like the Vols alot. Most of us dont think Gabe Wright will come to Georgia. I am fairly sure he will be at Auburn when all is said and done. Just like last year with Whitaker and Thornton. We knew we were only getting 1 and the other would go to Auburn. Bama, Tennessee, Auburn, FSU and Florida will all get some great recruits from Georgia this year and some already have. I believe Vincent will end up at Tennessee. However I do believe that UGA will end up with Crowell, Drew, Rome and Swann.

Fair enough...what do you think about Walls?

Pretty decent post, I think UGA gets Drew as well but for the life of me don't know why. Best guess is the spiritual angle/connection with CMR. Honest question, considering UGA's talent do you feel like they are habitual underperformers?

So... What about Wilder?

I dont think the team as a whole are under performers. I think like with any team and even more so in 08, we have had a lot of injuries. We also have had guys that were highly rated that just never adjusted and did as good in college. I hate to beat a dead horse but I honestly believe we had a shot at the NC in 05. Then DJ Shockley was injured and didnt play against Florida and we lost 14-10. Then Willie blew the Auburn game at the end by pressing the safeties and we lost 31-30. At that moment I knew something was wrong with our defensive coaches and it just went downhill from there. His schemes and ability to make adjustments were horrible. We were recruiting loads of talent on the defense to watch them lose games. It was very painful to watch our offense play well and have the defense blow it. So in that aspect I think the defense were underachievers but it was more of the coaches coaching down the players than the players themselves. Look at all the guys we had go late in drafts or sign as free agents after the draft and do well in the pros with the right coaches.
