Can't do that. There may be surprise defections on NSD.
Plus you don't want any other teams in the SEC to have a shot at them. Why help Vandy or UK or USC Lite?

Do we stay on Richardson given the possible academic rumors? Oversign? Grey shirts? Will we know about Loften before signing day?

We take Richardson no matter what. He was the first guy Dooley had an in-home with. That says alot about how much we want him. He should qualify anyways.

I do see us oversigning.

Yes, we should know something about Loften in late December with plenty of time to find a replacement.

depends on how many they think are not making it academically. at this point, they feel good all current commitments are going to make it. someone being a gray shirt is possible but I've heard no names of possible gray shirts yet.

4. S (Loften or Moore)
5. LB (Dawson or Paul)
6. DE (Pagan)
7. Pick one: DT (Wright), OG (Jackson), APB (Morris, Huggins, Bellamy, or Bigelow)

Anything beyond that (including if we take more than one for #4, #5, or #7) will be oversigning.

Good post, I like the way you broke it down and that is exactly how I see it...maybe throw Pagan in there with your #7's and it be any combo of those guys.

Good list. Jackson is definitely a take as is one of those Running Backs if they want to come to Tennessee. Both LB's would be takes too if they wanted to come.

I think they'll sign 28 or 29 when all is said and done.

And figure out the rest from there. It's absolutely critical they have 26 players next year that are eligible and if oversigning by 2 or 3 to ensure that...and then working things out as you go is what needs to be done (by greyshirting a couple), then so be it. I dont see any way they dont go over 26.

Also wouldn't surprise me to see a sign and place like Dunaway.

I agree and I have been saying this when people start arguing numbers. If we have a Bellamy or a Dawson that wants to commit/sign come early Feb and we have 26/27 guys already in the fold we will sign them and figure it out later. We can not turn down top end talent no matter what.:good!:

Exactly. They would never turn down guys like that if they called up on signing day and said they wanted to be Vols.
