And exactly what commits have we pulled out of our "ass?"

One could argue we took commitments from DY, Allan Carson, Andrew Power, and Juda Parker too early. They were all players we could offer later on as back up options if we missed out on higher targets.

The staff knew that we could land Buie or Morris, and still took DY. Those saying Carson is a reach are basing it off of Rivals.

I am not a start gazer in any way. I think Allan Carson can blow up the run and be in the backfield on a consistent basis. But if you have one spot left and it is AC or Gabriel Wright, who do you take?

We wouldn't come to that scenario because we would make room for both.

We're going to have to do a lot of shimmying, signing and placing and or grayshirting some recruits to make room for them if we finished out as we are expected to and then pull a few surprise/on the fence recruits like Gabe.

You don't think we will fill up? After the three commits we have coming up it leaves two spots open. It may even be one if Loften makes it. We still have quite a few players left on the board. Some talents that you can't let walk away just because your class is filled up.

And if Gabe wanted to come, he would be one of those two spots.

Then who would you drop?

I don't want to see anyone dropped. But I'm curious, why suggest Carson? If numbers are that tight, I suspect UT will have taken 5 OL, possibly 4 LBs and 6 DBs. Why not one of them since (keeping in mind that DL has as much, if not more, needs than any other position)?

I'm sorry, I don't understand the obsession some of our fans have with dropping recruits. I confess I spend 0% of my time thinking about it.

Why? Because until we actually oversign, the problem does not exist.

The sky might fall too, but I don't worry about that either. :loco:

Cause some are just throwing sht up against the wall to see if it sticks or not. The ones doing it are the ones that know absolutely nothing.

If we get Gabe Wright, Auburn could easily swoop in and steal Carson.

If they even want him. I don't think they so or will. Aren't we his beat offer? Even if they lose Gabe, I don't see them pressing Carson.

If we don't have room for both Carson & Wright, dump Devrin Young.

Some people are here are awfully sensitive. Guess we'll see how people feel when we fill up with people still on the board on NSD. And for the record, no I am not suggesting Carson as the first to dump or greyshirt. That honor would go to DY. He does nothing that could not be replaced by someone like TT, VD, DA, or a guy like Romar Morris.

So you would dump DY if we didn't have room and pick up someone like Morris... exactly how does that solve the numbers problem. And BTW the coaches disagree with you.

Because I think it is necessary to keep the best talent in the class. I think every OL committed is a very good player. Every LB has the talent and potential to be a starter and/or major contributor here. I wouldn't drop any of the DB's because that is where most of the playmakers in the class are.

Randolph, Martin, Coleman, are all very talented and highly thought of.

Tino Thomas has great size and speed for a corner.

Lanier is an instant plug and play type of guy.
