'11 FL LB Gionni Paul

I'm not sure what's up with Paul. I think he likes it here alot. Not sure if Tennessee likes him as much.

Per Hubbs.

Lathers, Jonson, King is what I think the starters look like

Propst will be backup MLB

Thorton & Crump will get a lot of PT

It took Bama more than a few years and a few coaches to get back to where they're at.

But they are back....nothing is going to destroy a program and if you get a Heisman and Championship, even if they are taken away, you can argue its worth it.

Disagree. Auburn won't be able to rebound near as much as a USC or Alabama either if something happens.

IMO, the 3 deep will be:

ROLB: King, Thorton, M. Jackson
MLB: Johnson, AJ Johnson, Propst, C Harris
LOLB: Lathers, G. Paul, Crump

Not a bad list. I could see Propst at the #2 MLB spot though. At least to begin the year. I do not think that AJ will be a immediate impact palyer at LB.

I think they like Dawson better. Now, I'm not sure if there's something to cause them to be heistant on Paul.

But it seems like that.

Well of course the staff is going to like Dawson better but are we in good enough shape to pass on Paul? IMO No. & if it's about a numbers crunch thats what the staff gets for taking commitments out their @** instead of seeing what developed later on.

I don't see Hubbs being right in this instance. Hinshaw has visited this kid. We got him up for an official with his family. I don't see us putting forth all that effort and saying sorry we've changed our mind.

Vereen has been ahead of NMT all year, no reason to believe it will change next year.

I think Crump will fight with King for the Sam position.

Calmo down, Jmoore. The staff has a plan. You're jumping the gun again!

Who is the most realistic player already committed that the staff could ask to look else where. I have yet to see some realistic options here.

I'm not overreacting, all I'm saying is that IF the staff passes over Paul they better land an elite LB. IMO we need to take Paul & still try to get Dawson. The LB core is the weakest part on the team next year IMO & having AJ Johnson, Paul, & possibly Dawson would help out ALOT!

The staff isn't going to pass over Paul w/o landing a better talent. This is likely a smokescreen so the kid has his day w/o everyone knowing. If it's not then that means the staff feels that we're going to land Dawson or another elite LB. If I had to bet on one it's that Paul has committed silently to the staff and wants it kept quiet. You really think the staff would pass on Paul w/o having someone better on the hook? I don't.

Agreed

I think next year's LB depth chart will be:
SLB: G King, R Crump, AJ Johnson, M Jackson
MLB: A Johnson, J Propst, C Harris
WLB: H Lathers, D Vereen, G Paul(?), N M-T

I think there's a good chance Paul (if we land him) passes Vereen midway through the season for 2nd string.

And I think we might finally see Askew on the field next season - next year will be make or break time for him cause the depth chart's only going to get tougher with each year.

IMO:

SLB: King / Paul
MLB: A Johnson / AJ Johnson
WLB: Lathers / Vareen

Paul and AJ Johnson are a step up from everyone not listed there...they are imediate impact players
