"I am waiting until after the season to take my officials," Paul explained.

"Everybody is still kind of even. I haven't been worrying about it too much, I just have been worried about my team and trying to make state. We have big expectations with so many seniors."

On his own football team, Paul has been having tremendous success and has been a key part in Kathleen's victories.

"I have been averaging like 20 tackles a game, so it has been good. I wanted to have a senior season like this. I worked hard in the offseason. It has been going good."

LB doesn't seem like it should be a priority this class, with Johnson and Harris committed and Crump, Propst, and Sapp already playing from last year's class.

"I love the Tennessee atmosphere and the coaches. I love how the coaches get in the players face and are ready for any game."

"I'm taking an official visit to Tennessee, Auburn, Louisville, LSU and making unofficials to Florida, South Florida and West Virginia. My 5th official visit is up for grabs."

Oh but it is... we need to get some size and speed there. We would love to add one more LB to go along with Harris and Johnson.

6', 220lbs, runs a reported 4.5. Those numbers are Ernie Sims-esque. Not saying he is a 5 star talent like Sims, but I would call him a "big, strong linebacker" with those types of numbers. Of course, I haven't seen any weightlifting numbers so I'm just assuming.

Gionni Paul finished his junior season with 159 tackles and six interceptions. He also had four rushing touchdowns. Paul says he can bench 365-pounds, squat 485 and claims a 39-inch vertical jump.

Paul also runs track and may consider doing both in college. He runs the 100m (11.7) and 200m (25.2). Paul also does the long jump (24-feet) and triple jump (42-feet).

Paul plans on majoring in computer engineering and reports a 3.5 core GPA, an 18 ACT and is considering graduating early.

Paul: “I know how to read and react well. I see the ball and I just go get it. I’m like a Ray Lewis-type.”

“I’m not concentrating on just one thing to improve. I want to do everything better.”

Tough to read at this point. We are definitely in it, but if I had to guess at this point I'd say USF

We have a good comp. engr. program at UT...not the best in the country but pretty well respected with its ties to ORNL...just saying, that could be a plus

the public school system is a joke and he is able to keep pace with the curriculum but not what is necessary to do well on standardized tests.
