As a recent UT Nuclear Engineering graduate and current grad student, I couldn't imagine trying to balance engineering school and football.

orrrrrrrrrrrrr

the public school system is a joke and he is able to keep pace with the curriculum but not what is necessary to do well on standardized tests.

orrrrrrrr.....

Standardized tests are the joke and dictate an impossible curriculum to teachers that have overcrowded classrooms with students on completely different ability levels from one another.

But this isn't the political forum so I will stop there. :hi:

Honestly, I'm not bashing you, but this is the best post I've ever seen you make. Maybe you just get a bad rap for being so negative (you'd say realist).

I played a year of soccer while on the major track in Physics. Not at UT, but I feel like a comparison can be made. Pulling it off involved going to bed at 8 PM on Friday nights and having no social life. Then again, if UT puts football players on track to graduation in 5 years instead of 4, I imagine the load could be spread out a bit.

In 1967 our starting center was Bob Johnson from Cleveland, TN. As I remember he was pursuing an engineering degree & was in one of my Mechanics classes. We all thought that was truly remarkable at the time.

No doubt it would be tough...but he wouldn't be the first UT player to do it...

Off the top of my head a few examples are Darwin Walker, Omari Hand, Omar Gaither and David Yancey

I was actually the GA in Yancey's Mechanics of Materials class

Paul believes Tennessee is going through a “rebuilding phase” and will turn it around much like Auburn has. “Everyone goes through that rebuilding time,” he said. “I believe that Tennessee will be a great team in a few years. Coach Derek Dooley will get it done.”

Tennessee and Auburn are recruiting him the hardest.

will officially visit UT in November or December.

is taking official visits to UT, Auburn, LSU, and Louisville for sure. Michigan will prolly get his 5th one.

Think we lead? This kid is a physical freak.

I think we are in his top 2 with Auburn. Not sure who leads. We can get him.

I personally think he is better than Johnson. With Johnson and Paul at OLB with Harris in the middle, I think I can take that and be really happy. You gotta be rethinking that 13-17 projection aren't you?

Let's say Randolph and Smith get their 4th (I've seen you state that Kerbyson and Coleman are possible too but I'm just going to go with Randolph and Smith). That would give us currently 4 4 star commits.

Then we are in great shape for Richardson, Arnett, Paul, Clear, Wright, Couch, Johnson, and Sylvester Williams.

I think we may have a chance at top 10 with 11 or 12 being the probable. However, I think we will be in the top 8 when it comes to actual enrollment rankings.

I think if we are in the TOP 15 it would be a big win with all the linemen we are loading up with but getting closer to top a 10 class would be even better.

Johnson is an inside linebacker.

Standardized tests measure a student's potential, they can show laziness, if the student does really well on them, but has a terrible GPA
