'11 FL RB Andrew Buie

Q
If we land Lane, is Buie a take?
A
(Fortenberry)I would probably say no unless they strike out on a lot of guys and he wants to come.

I think you take one of these if possible and call it a day. We still need another LB and DT/DE. If this staff does want to push it, they might sign a 3rd TE.

How would you guys feel about our depth at RB if Poole went out with a season ending injury in the 3rd game?

I want them both if they want to be here. RBs of this caliber are versatile and can be shifted around to contribute somewhere.

Why is everyone so obsessed with Buie? Do y'all not think there's a reason that most big schools (including UT) have either passed on him or never recruited him hard to begin with?

Personally I'm content with not landing Lane and just taking Smith and Buie. I don't know why he's been passed on but watching his highlights he looks sensational.

You could say that about about 3 positions.

Coaches really never fell in love with him. Rivals is the only recruiting service that likes Buie. So there's more to it IMO

Buie is gonna be a terrific player for somebody. Yahoo says he reminds them of Kevin Faulk. Strong legs, strong frame, fast and elusive and injury-free. Hope he comes to UT, bulks up another 10-15 lbs. and becomes another Travis Stephens.
