Wes Rucker just posted that there's a Community College center visiting this weekend who may be eligible to play this season. I suppose if there's anyone out there looking for some good news, maybe this helps.

Offensive center
Council Bluffs, Iowa
Iowa Western C.C.

Ht:6'1"
Wt:290 lbs

Will be in town tomorrow for an unofficial visit

“When I told them Tennessee wanted him to come down for a visit his eyes lit up,” Coach Strohmeir said. “If Tennessee offers him, I’m sure he will sign with them and play football for them this fall. Their coaching staff is telling me that they are in need of help at the center position.”

Looked at the Iowa Western roster he is 6'2, 290lb. I'm assuming they haven't updated their roster because he is still listed as a freshman, if he signs here would I be correct in thinking he'll have three years to play?

1st Team All-Conference last year in his JUCO league. He is listed in the 2011 class, but can get out now and would be a 2010 prospect.

Excellent, we need to get him on campus. Glad we were smart enough not to waste that remaining 2010 scholarship.

just curious - if the rumors on the football forum that bryce and his brother arthur want to be a package deal, arthur would be a 2010 juco recruit, wouldn't he? if that's the case, would we only have room for one out of arthur brown and this guy?

We desperately need bodies on the OL, especially at the interior spots, and I think Hendrikson could help us some this year.

I know JC offensive linemen rarely have much of an impact in their first year, but this guy's very bright (3.65 GPA at Iowa Western) with excellent strength & athleticism (all-state in baseball w/ a .516 batting average, 3-time all-stater in football, 3-time state qualifier in wrestling, 55' shot put). He's also a natural leader with an outstanding work ethic.

Now that he's focusing on one sport, I think Hendrikson could become a really solid football player in the SEC. He was named 1st-team all-conference and all-region this year at Iowa Western.

Even in small schools it's becoming rare to see athletes compete in sports all year round. Many athletes like to take a season off or simply choose to specialize in one or maybe two sports.

St. Ansgar's Dallas Hendrikson is the exception to the rule. He has faithfully participated in four sports, year round, throughout his high school career. Not only has he participated, he has experienced the type of success in each of his sports that many athletes hope for in just one.

Hendrikson named 1A Player of the Year

Where did you see he was 1st Team All-Conference? I've looked just can't find it.

I would think if we are serious enough to sign him he would likely be our starting center don't you think?

nice. He might be able to bring a little stability to the o-line. At least the center spot.

If we offer he will accept, for sure. But I wonder how good he will be considering he had no D1 scholly offers.
