Wes Rucker just posted that there's a Community College center visiting this weekend who may be eligible to play this season. I suppose if there's anyone out there looking for some good news, maybe this helps.

These r the type of Cats we need to come to UT smart that can play with chips on their shoulders that because of the Big time schools are giving any interest! ( of course we are going get some studs cause of people that are fans of the program)

We need a lot of help on the O-Line, and this guy looks like he could contribute right away. Probably not a starter, but he certainly could provide quality depth.

If Dooley, Chaney, and Hiestand decide to offer him, then I'm all for it. As much trouble as Pope and Thomas had in the spring, we need some help there. Not to mention we are gonna be about 10 players under the scholly limit of 85 when the season rolls around.

If I was a betting man, I'd say we'll offer him. I don't see the staff making a kid drive all the way from Iowa on his own money just to tell him they don't need him.

In your opinion do you think he could be our opening day center?

I don't think we would sign him if the staff didn't think he would have a realistic chance of being the opening day starter for us. That depends on if we even offer the kid.

I would say it is very possible considering we don't really have anyone who has played center before.

I guess he could be. I wouldn't bet on it because I expect Pope and Thomas to learn how to snap a little bit, but who knows.

Kinda bad if we are relying on a JUCO player to come in and start at center for us...that being said, if the staff wants him there must be something they see

Also a story on GVX about a OT getting academically dismissed from Vandy. Get him to visit, too.

I'm thinking if he can pass the ball between his legs to the Quarterback, we can use him. We can always work on that blocking thing later.

I understand that it's not top notch competition but the kid looks like he competes hard and finishes play. A little more experience and depth at center would be nice if the coaches think he can help the team especially since I don't think we want to add muffed snaps to the list of things to overcome this fall.
