'11 QB NC Christian LeMay

Lemay is getting ready to make a cut to his top 5. He said today that Clemson and UGA will be there for sure and Auburn probably will too. The other 2 are unknown atm.

As I said, he and Malzahn looked pretty chummy at Auburn's practice Wednesday. He never left his side. I don't see him coming to AU though.

Well I hope UT is in the top 5. With NS leaving, we have some room for a top QB. I know Bray is here, but we havent seen him play yet.

“Georgia and Auburn are in there now,” he said. “I may cut it down to five, but it could be seven. I know three schools in there for sure now, Clemson, Georgia, and Auburn. Each school helped themselves this week and I enjoyed each visit.”

Alabama, Florida, LSU, Notre Dame, Tennessee, and Texas A&M are some of the schools fighting for those remaining slots as LeMay plans to cut his list down again in a couple of months.

Florida State, North Carolina, and Virginia Tech were three schools he was considering at one time, but he has already cut each one of them off his list.

Per Scout...

Vols are holding solid in Lemay's top 10. Hopefully, we make the cut and he gives CDD a real chance and visits again.

There were also posters here who had UF out in front...but its classy that you went back and found the lone person who stated that...of course I wouldn't really expect anything less from you...

everything Im reading has CL headed to UGA. Maybe that's why CMR was so quick to boot ZM

espnu 150 watch list quarterback christian lemay is one of the most sought-after 2011 recruits in the country. And according to the atlanta journal-constitution, georgia is now in better shape to sign him.

The reason why is that lemay, even though he's liked the looks of georgia for awhile, was a little concerned about the team's loaded depth chart at the position. However, following zach mettenberger's dismissal, things have opened up a little bit, and lemay's father, rev. Stacy lemay, told the paper the following: "i think it definitely helps georgia. Christian feels even better about the situation, and he already liked georgia a lot anyway ... Now georgia's situation has become even more attractive."

the race to land lemay certainly isn't over yet, and clemson, alabama, notre dame and texas a&m -- the remaining four schools in his top five -- will all likely continue to make a major push to sign him. But the good news for bulldogs fans is that the one hurdle keeping him from coming to athens has already been cleared.

From some of the things I've heard, I don't think staff's are as high on LeMay as many of these recruiting analysts are.

Don't get me wrong, he's a good prospect and a take, but he's not the elite QB prospect Scout and others have made him out to be.

Not sure if it was reported but he dropped UF from his list......if the rumors out of uga about Marshall committ are true then its going to be interesting to see what Lemay does next.

Hard to believe that LeMay would be worried about competition from either Golson at UNC or Marshall at UGA, but if he is, I'd have to guess that Clemson would lead

If Aaron Murray is as good as he was hyped coming out of HS, then anyone signing with UGA will most likely redshirt, and be stuck behind him for two or three years on the depth chart.

Not only that, but Richt marries the older quarterback on his team so even if the younger guy is better he won't play over Murray.

Richt does have a history of quarterbacks having to seriously wait their turn though...

DJ Shockley behind David Greene.

Joe Tereshinski waited behind Greene and Shockley, and Stafford only played his freshman year because Tereshinski got hurt, and eventually benched.

Joe Cox sat behind Stafford for much of Stafford's three years, and then sucked when he finally was handed the reigns.

Aaron Murray will start this year, and anyone signing with Georgia will be behind him until he is gone most likely. Looking at those guys who had to wait their turn (DJ Shockley, Joe Tereshinski, and Joe Cox), only DJ had a good year when given his chance to be The Guy.
