I live here in birmingham and I can tell you that if we are taking transfers from a program that is going to get shut down for, let's be honest, being terrible, then we have bigger problems.

Those guys are bigger than the folks we'll sign in the next recruiting class.

Title lX and Bear Bryant Jr wanting to end the program is why they're being shut down

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Also would be an upgrade from taking someone from the JUCO ranks.

You do realize that the school isn't being shut down because all their players suck at football right?

It is being shut down because their BOT is run by Univ of Alabama and they have been trying to dump the program for years because they only want Bama lovers in the state.

Just because they are bigger doesnt mean they are good players or better for the future of our program.

I guess Butch could very well take him or someone else on the team, but I see a very very small chance of it even being considered.

I picked arguably their best guy on the oline and made a thread. He's a 2 year starter with serious size and a RS year for maturity. Those opportunities never present themselves and he would be at minimum excellent depth with all the snaps he's seen.

Keep in mind a guy with a torn ACL beat out other guys to start games. That guy never was even on scholarship until last year. So yeah I think this dude would have a chance to play at UT IF UAB does dissolve.

Shows you how little some people know about the state of their own program or refuse to acknowledge. We are so desperate for OTs it's not even funny

I probably realize better than you, not to be an a$$. It's been a terrible program, the team isn't really any good, I know they're bowl eligible, but the main reason it's being shut down is the team is historically terrible and the program looses a lot of money cause they can't draw fans and 99% of the time don't make a bowl game.

I don't think it should be shut down as much as the next guy, but you can't blame them for considering it, I mean even the Governor can't defend them.

UAB was 89th in sacks given up. Just a random tidbit. (Yes I know they play a weak schedule)

They had an OL drafted two years ago and he's still in the league. We understand that most of their players aren't a fit for us, but we only need one.
