If Trae doesn't get serious about his recruiting, he's going to miss the boat. I know he wants to go to UT but spots are filling up quick and I don't think the staff sees a huge difference between Elston and Bivins.

Personally, I don't think they're in the same league. Elston is a beast.

This.........considering he is the one calling the UGA coaches instead of them calling him. Seems obvious he is wanting to go to UGA unless he really did not mean that the way it sounded.

As of November 11th, he listed Georgia as the team outside of his top 4. Behind Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU, and Bama. He doesn't even have committable offers from LSU and Bama.

He is just taking too long and he isn't quite good enough for most schools to wait on him.

Do you work at AU, or just live down there? Just curious because you get a lot of good info for a man on the street.

I work for a company that has a lot of contracts with the university. That's how I talk to coaches and beat writers.

But my thoughts on Elston come from knowing some of his friends in Oxford and the part about Georgia being out of his top 4 is a direct quote from him :hi:

Oh yeah. Now I remember you said that before, sorry. Was he not close to the tugboat? It looks like AC would be useful here, unless he is unhappy. Which makes no sense considering the staff has really gave him good shot to play this year.

Oh no no..That was just a train of thought deal. Having a personal friend on the team that is happy is like gravy in recruiting, I would think. Unless that guy is for some reason unhappy, in which case it would he really bad. There is no rumor about AC either way as far as I know. I would think if they are close, that AC would be all over him. But I haven't heard anything about him doin so.

From everything I've heard, Carson is happy and doing everything he can to recruit Trae. Trae just needs to pull the trigger if he doesn't want to lose his spot again.

I agree. GT09 says that Elston is very underated. He usually has pretty good opinions (not always). I would like to see the kid in Orange.

This is 100% ture, but damn I wish he would get on board with UT because it appears Bivins is going to take that spot soon. Elston >> Bivins. I'm actually suprised the staff doesn't push Elston for a commitment or at least tell him there is only 1 spot left for a DB.

I don't know but this is becoming a recurring problem for him. I know he could have been a part of Auburn's class if he had pulled the trigger a few months ago and I've heard the same about Bama. TW could probably confirm/deny that.

Sounds like the stress of making this important of a decision is the problem. Or maybe he really does have a stiffy for the Dawgs and has just been waiting on them?

Here's a thought. Maybe he doesn't want to deal with the crap that would come from living in this area and being a Vol commit. Trust me, he wouldn't become the most popular guy in town.

Thats reasonable and happens a lot in areas that heavily favor a certain team. If so, he would still need to be a silent to the staff to ensure that DB spot. It's very hard to truly be a silent these days. As I've stated before, I would take Elston over 60-70% of our current commits.

He needs to bring his ass on and end this. He a lot better than Bivins but he's not a guy that can hold all the cards.

I know it's old news but Fortenberry posted again today that he thought the Vols can get Elston. Said his OV that is coming up will be very important.

That's what we all think - and what we all hope for. McNeil is getting a lot of attention as of late and has scheduled OV's to other schools. Personally, I agree that he stays committed - but we just cannot be to sure until NSD. I hope Dalton is in McNeils ear to help him stay committed.

Yeah he's getting a lot of attention, as well he should. The guy is a stud. But he seems to love what we offer.

FWIW, a govols247 mod said he thinks the staff has cooled on Elston & he would be surprised if he became a Vol.
