I think it may be a numbers thing and they have to decide what is the most important at this point

I'm sure it's a wait and see approach. I think the staff right now is mainly concerned about getting EE's in here. So I could see the EE's being their priority right now. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff had their own EE board.

But I think after the EE's all enroll, the class will be evaluated, we will see who is left on the board, and if the coaches still feel like Cochran is a great take, then they will take him. Not too worried about it

is cochran not an EE? if so, I'm all for the wait and see approach. the amount of EE will be directly related to our success next year. Dooley knows it. Honestly, our 3 best players will be EE, Jacobs, Autry, and Pig.

I'm sure it also has a little to do with him being from left coast and that the coaching staff wants him to be certain that picking up roots and moving 2500 miles is what he truly wants. Could help prevent a NSD decommittment.

yea i see that, but his offer list is retarded, if we have room i think he has to be a take.

Seeing as we took Meredith when we are pretty well stocked with Rivera, Clear, and Downs as it is, I dont see why we wouldn't take Cochran. Kid has excellent size, and we need to take an O-lineman every year imo. Make room for him and take him. We need a full class and this is the class for talent upgrades. Im expecting some of lower tier guys who are currently on the team that are not contributing to not be back next year.

Its actually normal to take a TE every year.

Maybe Cochran is a really good run blocker and if this past year was any indication, he would not be what this staff is looking for. Our OLines now at Tennessee are not required to run block. :unsure:

No I completely agree, and I wanted us to take Meredith. I think its crazy for those to complain about us taking him. He will do good things for Tennessee. His film is similar to Stocker's out of high school. As soon as he adds more weight to his frame he is going to be really good. I just feel like Cochran is our best bet at an OL for this year, and he's a pretty good one too. We should take him.

What are you hearing OCI -- does the staff want him or not?? Personally, I think with our troubles at center this year he is very much a take, but it seemed to me that when we told him to go home and make sure, we were just stalling for time to see how our board shakes out as we near NSD.

So what is your take on this "kid" do we want him??
