Sorry for late response....Thunders reply below yours was spot on with my thinking. Mostly technique issues, but for the record I like the pickup and I think he has a very bright future.

Lulz'z all around on the Santos haters above....

Santos + AJ Johnson equals mucho 3rd and long for the future.

No worries on the delay.

I think he could definitely be in the 2 deep at OLB his freshman year. He is more athletic than AJ and quicker (I think AJ is a little out of position and should be inside).
Learning curve is the mental hurdle to playing fast.
I would love to be able to redshirt him, however, I don't know if we will have that luxury.

nope...he plays

nope, he doesnt, unless theres a ton of injuries. Lathers, AJ and Maggit will start, NMT, Sapp, Propst, Crump, Harris and the two other incoming freshmen LBs who are far better then Henderson will all play before Hendserson, and unless one of the starters goes down I dont think any of the others will see significant time. Its like the Worley plan prior to Brays injury, no doubt Worley was better then Simms but why burn a redshirt if its only for reserve duty?

You can't possibly know that until they get on campus, practice and play.

You're right, I just dont think they should burn redshirts for the freshmen linebackers unless theres meaningful minutes to be had. Theres too many will be upperclassmen to be second string. I could see one of Santos, Henderson,or Peters getting some time but hopefully not more than one. AJ and Maggit played cause they had to and they played meaningful minutes.

Santos is a stud. He isn't overrated... if anything, he is underrated by Rivals.

ESPN has Santos as the #1 ILB in the country and Scout has him at #4. Rivals has him at #15 right now but in the next day or two they are supposed to be updating so maybe that changes.

Rivals doesn't have Henderson listed in the OLB position rankings but both ESPN and Scout have him ranked above Peters which I didn't realize.

Henderson ESPN 16 Scout 47
Peters ESPN 37 Scout 65

I figure all of these position rankings get tweaked between now and the end of recruiting season but this is what is out right now.

The chatter was that Henderson could be a big riser. Senior film is looking outstanding and he's gained weight. He's definitely the rawest of the three, but still has as much natural talent as either one of Peters and Santos.

All three are gonna play as Frosh. And all three will do so because of talent, just like Maggit and Johnson this year. Luckily, unlike last year, this year they'll also be playing with Maggit and Johnson, a luxury not a lot of teams in college football can say.

On the chance of him looking around w/ all the rumors floating around the program....

Khalid Henderson: "Not at all. We have talent already in place and coming in as well. Just about gelling together, and take this season to heart and working even harder for next year. All eyes are on us."

According to Chad Simmons, Georgia could be turning up the recruitment of Henderson.

Screw UGA... I have never been a big hater of rival programs (except Auburn) but UGA is quickly rising to the top of my sh!t list... Mostly, I think, because of their homer fans that populate this board...

Random rant over.. Go Vols and Merry Christmas EVERYBODY...

If I were him I would just want to get out of Georgia. The area he is from isn't the greatest.

Henderson and King will prolly get PT next season. When they're sophomores, I think both those guys will do amazing things. Glad to have them both.

If they get PT then we are in serious trouble next season. This should be the last season in which any freshmen gets significant PT. (Maybe Santos... who else)

I wouldn't be shocked at all to see them both redshirt, actually. If not they'll play on teams and that will be the extent of it.

There is no problem with FR getting PT. It becomes a problem when you MUST start two. Ideally, your best backups will sometimes be Fr. IIRC, EVERY team in the SEC had Fr as first backups except for Bama.

Hope Lathers makes a 100% recovery, but it's not a given. If A.J. gets on the same page with Wilcox, my guess is that he will move to middle with Harris and Maggitt on the outside.
