'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

I know Imani is supposed to be a RB here, but in person, he looks like a beast of a LB. He was the most physically impressive recruit I saw at the O&W Game.

Kid is a BEAST. His skill would allow him to play RB, but he had better stop growing. After all, some of our best LBs EVER where converted HBs. But Dooley likes those big RBs, so we shall see. But I'm with you in the fact that this kid has the physicals attributes to play SEC ball. Very impressive IMO.

He'll only move to LB if there is absolutely no chance for him to get playing time at RB, I doubt Dooley would straight up lie to this kid and move him to LB as soon as he arrives on campus

Maybe that's already the plan? We've offered quite a few RB's this cycle, and could land 2-3 more..

Who said Dooley would straight up lie? That's not what I was insinuating. I was just questioning whether or not he would outgrow the position. Hell I hope he does play RB. It's been a while since we've had a big powerful back who could bludgen the defense for 4 quarters. Foster was big but IMO was still somewhat of a finesse runner. Hardesty was physical and played bigger than his actual size. But there isn't any sustitution for 230lbs of solid mass pounding away for 4 quarters.

I would be fine with them using the bigger backs for 3 qtrs and then bring in a DY or a Kimbrow to gash the tired defense in the 4th qtr. I guess you could also flip that to using the smaller fast RB's to wear them out and then pound on the D with a Cross/Williams in the 4th.

I just hope Chaney runs more this yr period. I like Chaney, but he ditched the run game a little too early a few times last yr.

Doubt Williams gets much chance to run anyone over. We will have Lane, Smith,Cross and Neal as the speed back. Lane,Cross and Smith will be Bruisers.

Just talked to his brother in the GT players lounge he's firm to UT other schools have been backing off there pursuit because he's so solid to UT

Lane may be just as fast or faster than Neal.

The O-line really struggled last year with run blocking...I think that had more to do with our pass happy offensive game plan.

Yo Knoxvillain, there's a possibility that Lane is faster than Neal but at the end of winter workouts Neal ran a 4.38 electronically timed 40. At 205 pounds. Run and tell that.

Where is the speculation that Lane is faster than Neal coming from. The only 40 time I've seen on him is less than stellar.

Lane is not a burner.

lets put an end to him touching Rajion's speed

He may be a step or two slower than Neal,

that one step the difference between a 4.4 and a 4.55 and yes, thats a big difference
