Kid just transferred to North Hall from Flowery Branch (where Connor Shaw played), which is why he's got a USCjr offer right now. One to watch for...
NTH vs. GHS will be a good game. Cross vs. AJ Johnson

YouTube - Gainesville vs. Flowery Branch 2009 AAA State Semifinals
Here's a video when he was at FB playing GHS. Haven't watched that video but I'm sure he's in it some.
Jamal Lewis set the standard. We haven't seen a recruit since, much less a commit, with that combination of size/speed.
True, AND he wasn't even the Peach State prize...instead, Jasper Sanks was most everyone's highly touted RB. Another Dawg :flush:
Back to Jamal, talented...no question. Terrific combo of size (6'0" 225) & speed (4.4 40) but was he a true bruiser at RB? Preferring to run over/through OR around people??
Set the standard, but Travis Henry was the last great punishing back at TN.
Yes. Tennessee's great teams were built around punishing backs. Henry, Stephens, Lewis were all backs that combined speed and bulldozing ability.
Yeah. Despite his size, Stephens ran hard.
Pretty good article on Imani. Says he's one of the best in the state.

- VQ"I still feel very strong," Cross said. "I still am 100% and I'm still a Volunteer. I haven't had any other schools show that much interest once they found out about Tennessee."
"I've talked with D.J. Humphries," Cross said. "I pretty much asked him if Tennessee was on his mind. He is coming up this weekend and he is very interested in Tennessee. I'll be there with him this weekend. I can't wait to get to know him and make sure he knows I need a great lineman blocking for me."
- Scout“I love how up tempo and how physical their practices are,” Cross told InsideTennessee.com Saturday afternoon. “You can really tell that the coaching staff is stressing how physical this team plays. It’s very impressive, I like that type of play.”
Cross, a big physical back in his own right, admitted that he is more committed than ever to the Volunteers.
“I love how the coaches may you feel like your already a part of their family,” Cross said. “I got a chance to visit with all the coaches, they all took time out of their busy schedule to talk to me and see how I was doing.”
