The O-line really struggled last year with run blocking...I think that had more to do with our pass happy offensive game plan.
Hmmm, that's funny. I remember late in the season Poole being tied for 1st in the S.E.C. with 6 100yd games. That was with 2-3 games left. Obviously you never watched Chaney call 50 plus pass plays per game at Purdue for 6-8 yrs straight. I also remember Simms and Bray getting the hell beat out of them. The last thing they need to do to Tyler Bray is have him throw 50 times per game. However, I've got a feeling that's what we had better get used to.
I would say Chaney is not an idiot...at the end of the season we went pass happy because that was working better. Chaney isn't so boneheaded that he won't run the ball if it is working...
I would be fine with them using the bigger backs for 3 qtrs and then bring in a DY or a Kimbrow to gash the tired defense in the 4th qtr. I guess you could also flip that to using the smaller fast RB's to wear them out and then pound on the D with a Cross/Williams in the 4th.
More like Lane, Cross, Neal and Smith being used as the gashing crew. With Kimbrow getting touches everywhere. This offense will be hell on wheels for a defense as long as we get consistent QB play. The O-line won't be a problem at all for us under Dooley. I like the direction our offense is going in. Kimbrow and Young will be terrors on special teams. They'll block a few kicks for us too. Great days ahead for our Vols folks. Let's Go Vols!!!!

I definitely see Kimbro and DY getting some PT at RB and in the slot in the future they are just have to much speed once they are in open space. It would be a waste not to use there talents there.
I never said they wouldn't. Especially Kimbrow, we'll line him up all over place and get him the ball in different kinds of ways. But those two will really make their mark in the special teams game. That's where they'll really earn their scholarships (especially DY).

Some recent chatter out there about Cross and UVA. His picture was on the latest Virginia Cavalier War Room. There has been quite a bit of message board rumors about this as well.
I don't think this is anything, but just rumors. But I thought it was interesting enough to post. I obviously don't have a membership to CavsCorner.com so I can't read the discussions on Cross, but something is going on it seems.
I'm going to guess it's just rumors. Cross seems to be pretty solid, and I'm not sure why he would go to UVA over UT for football. I guess we'll find out soon enough.
"It's a soft commitment," Cross told CavsCorner over the weekend. "I'm still committed, though."
"Recently, we were visiting up in Boston and we ended up visiting Virginia. I loved it. I loved the coaches, the education and the school. It's a great place. I'm definitely going back up there."
-Rivals."Those are just the two schools showing the most interest right now," he said. "Right now, I think the best thing to do is just to leave all my options open. If any other schools come along, I'd be open to them, too. I'm just looking for the right situation for me."
