'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

As it sits right now, barring no additional roster changes, there looks to be 14 spots open for this recruiting cycle. To all the doubters, don't you think the staff should be picky on who it takes??????

Janzen is good as gone. I'd say about five transfers is the norm. We'll be looking at about twenty.

I'd rather not. There will be players that decide on their own.

That's totally understandable. I can't name five I want to leave. Even if I could I wouldn't put it here out of respect. Do you really see five leaving? I don't. More like 3, maybe...

Mock all you want and say the sky is falling all night long, but there is something wrong here and it does not look good.

If we were to lose his commitment then I'm not sure if we'd sign another player at any position in this class...

It's not like there's over 6 months until NSD and over half of the total 4 and 5 stars are uncommitted at this point

Haters everywhere.

Peoples opinions seem to change on the sight by the day. I hope he stays committed to UT. Not only because I like him as a player, but because he was our first committ this year. Says something if he is willing to choose us that early.

Is it not strange to anyone else that the coaches are not talking to him on a normal basis? He is half our recruiting class on his own.

I'm never the sky is falling kinda guy, but I must say I seem to be questioning a bunch of moves the coaches are doing this year. I want to believe, but right now I must admit....It is a little hard with how its going at the moment.

While I agree I hope he sticks with the Vols as he is a different kind of back, I can understand why a kid would look around. IF he has also been told they intend to take 4 RBs....I think any kid will be worried about what he is walking into.

Imani is just making sure he's made the right decision. Nothing wrong with that. Completely his prerogative. I hope we get him, but if not, best to him and we will b find.

I don't understand the talk about taking four RBs. Two will do nicely and I think one would suffice, so why take four when we need D-line and LBs? Some recruit credited Dooley with saying four, but I'm sceptical. Unless a handful or players leave the team, we only have about 15 schollies.

We're not taking 4. No room. 2 max unless 1 can play LB.

So is Cross gone? I really hope not, I was looking forward to watching him drag defenders to the checkerboards!

Even if we only have normal attrition, we will have around 20 schollies.

We already had abnormal attrition from the Kiffin and Fulmer classes. Dooley's big idea is to keep his own recruits on the team, to build much needed depth. Could be more schollies will open. But I still don't see taking four RBs, even if we have all 25 schollies available, which we won't. It's not going to happen.

Based on his quotes, Hill was led to believe he was taking the last RB spot. fwiw

Just got on for the first time in about a month and I was reading Alden Hill's thread when I read that Imani was considering UVA. That was an immediate red flag to me and so I hopped over here to give my take on the situation if this is true. I played for the same high school and the same head coach as Imani, the guy was a complete tool. I have to say, this concerns me because Imani's head coach was also the head football coach for Anthony Poindexter in high school and Poindexter is on the coaching staff for UVA. Poindexter was far and away his most beloved player during his coaching career. I have no doubts that the head coach is pushing Imani to go to UVA. He did the same thing with a prior running back at the school TJ Pitts. TJ was interested in Miss. State but the head coach pushed him to go to UVA by the time national signing day had come around the head coach had helped burn all the bridges with other schools recruiting TJ and in the end UVA told TJ they wanted him to go to Hargrave for a year to bulk up and make some good grades, which is exactly what he didn't want. The kid ended up signing with Memphis because he was still in contact with the coach there. Needless to say, i've seen this rodeo before and it's not good. That entire coaching staff that surrounds Imani right now will push for him to go to UVA. My fingers are crossed that he won't buy into their bull sh*t.
