'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

Hate it for Imani, but it's a good thing for UT if true.

Agree. This guy, to me, had Tauren Poole written all over him. Maybe it's just the fact that he was our first commit for this class and he is a running back from Georgia. But, they do have similar measureables.

I hate to see anyone told to look elsewhere..

Also, of course it's going to be listed as "mutual" he isn't going to come out and say, "oh, they didn't want me any longer so they pulled my scholarship." Regardless, best of luck to him in the future.

Agreed. "Mutual parting of ways" sounds like the coaches said "Thanks, but you should look elsewhere" and the recruit just having to accept it.

Maybe this a sign of bigger and better recruits to come, but I have to admit that I'm a little disappointed by the loss of Imani. I think he had a lot of potential here. I wish him the best, and I thank him for placing his faith in us for the time that he did, even if we apparently lost that faith in him.

He's 190+ now. I don't know what you have against the kid but he's a good player and can easily add weight in a real strength program.

Prepare to be shocked in 2014 when he's a 230 pound OLB.

Kid looks about 180, I seriously doubt he gets to 230 and even if he does he shouldn't see the field.

LOL, why shouldn't he see the field? What on Earth qualifies you to say something like that?

You're a jmoore disciple I see -- declaring kids are busts before they even graduate high school.

Yeah, didn't you know players are easy to evaluate in high school. That is why you never see any busts or surprises when they get into college.

If this kid is starting for UT at any point in his career, we are in trouble...he may be a guy that can play a few snaps here or there but he should never start at UT, we should be able to get better players.

jmoore diciple, that is hilarious.

Enough about Blanc.

Played against very weak competition. I'd love to see what some of our other committs would do against East Tennessee kids.

I'm not saying he is terrible and just flat out sucks but there is no reason that a program like UT can't do better than him. No matter the position.

What a joke. This is exactly why I have the Blanc thread ignored -- so I don't have to read the garbage like this that I know is being spewed constantly in there.

Star gazers are entitled an opinion, I guess. Sadly.

Not a star gazer, not like he had an exceptional year against subpar competition.

I'm pretty sure he was told everything is fine this weekend. Things can change obviously but it would have to be pretty quick.

He's a couple years away so may be a prime candidate for a GS if they need to go down that road.

I think we just have much higher prospects on our board. I hope he ends up like Young, but I just don't see it happening.

Camped at UT at least 3 times last summer and was in the top-tier of performers every time. The staff really wasn't looking to offer but he made it almost impossible for them not to.

He's raw but, like I said, it's about what you see down the road with him.

You maybe right but you can't sit and honestly say that UT can't do better, that's all I'm trying to say. And not down the road, this years class.

Blanc will not be next. Staff really likes Blanc.

As far as Cross goes, this is the nature of recruiting - and when you are trying to fill up with EE's things like this will happen.

It was a good move by the staff and it was the stand up thing to do.
