'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

According to the "VolNation Dictionary", any kid who decommits, for whatever reason: (1) did not decide he wanted to go elsewhere, he was discarded by the coaching staff, (2) would not be a good fit, (3) is not nearly as good as he previously led us to believe, and (4) is a bad person. You are correct in your assertion that those inside the athletic department would not provide this kind of information on a message board or anywhere else. We have some poseurs on here who let their orange-colored glasses outweigh any respect they may have for the truth and/or for the dignity of a high school senior.

how true

Maybe he is like Davis and doesnt like it that UT is going hard after so many other RB's.

Gotta make room. It's the nature of the beast. If my job was on the line I'd bring in the best available talent, not who are fan favorites (local boys). With that being said, Now Watch out now dere boy!!!

I'm suprised mlsoft hasn't shown up tell us what a bunch of slimeballs our staff is for this. I am kind of glad, and kind of not glad about this. I think Hill can play the same role, and probably be better at it than Cross, especially since he is a EE. So Cross would always be playing catchup with him, and Hill seems to me to be a bit less stiff, and a little quicker than Cross, so I get it. Buuut I was really looking forward to seeing Cross bash away at people. I hope to goodness we do get/have somebody better.

I can't help but think that the staff has a good feel of what Davis is gonna do after this weekend and that they can now fill Imani's spot with someone of greater need. Maybe the big Cochran kid from Cali.

I posted in the Davis forum that I was not getting my hopes up for him, but this thing with Cross makes me think they are more confident than I am

I don't think Dooley has that luxury

There are only so many recruits that will make significant, if any impact in their freshman seasons. It would be a disservice to himself and the program if Dooley didn't take guys that also have huge upside. This is what I like about Dooley's recruiting, he seems to be intelligent about piecing together the team based on the needs. I.E. D.Young. Not every recruit can be a star, need role players and solid contributors as well.

They think he can get to 230-240 in a couple years. It's about future projection with him. Don't follow suit with the dolts on this board who think he's a hopeless prospect.

If Blanc can gain that much weight and keep his speed to any reasonable extent...BOOM!

I am not one of those that think 2 stars are hopeless. It's really how bad these kids want it. If he works hard and studies he can be a great addition to this year's class.

I agree. Lot of upside, hard worker from what I've heard, hometowner/already bleeds Orange, and he's got SEC speed if nothing else.

The staff knew they had 2 backs that were the exact same size and speed and bring the same type running style. Someone had to go. Hill is the solid commit, that will do whatever it takes. The staff went with who they feel fits better. That opens up a much needed slot that we're going to need.
