It is against Akron. He fails to get anything more than what the defense gives him, a good running back would be well over 200 yards right now. The run by Marlin Lane is an example of how a good running back can get more than is given. Lane is nowhere near consistent enough to see nearly all the carries, but Neal has done nothing to show that he should be getting the percentage of carries he is getting.

Meanwhile Alden Hill is silent. Hill replaced Cross comparing a true freshman to a junior is not really fair.

Pretty good stats, was just wondering about how he was doing at Nebraska, averaging 7.6 per carry. Good for him. Had he come to TN he'd be struggling as well IMO, cause of the reliance on the passing game.

Would be ranked higher than that, if we'd have ran the ball longer in the Florida game. We might even have had a chance to win the damn game! But :no: !

Got to agree with this, especially when Chaney quits running the ball in the 3rd quarter.

Don't get me wrong, we need a stud rb, but our run issues are complex. I feel Chaney is the week link. Predictable, pass happy, and panicky, make for a tough career for a good back.

Our problems running the ball is because of the OL coach. So we get a new OL coach.

Our problems running the ball is because of the running backs not running hard. We get a RB coach.

Our problems running the ball now is the OC and his scheme. ???

Maybe this time next year we can blame the groundskeeper for the condition of the field. :crazy:

Chaney's play calling has sucked since Dooley got here. It hasn't gotten any better against good teams. He needs to go asap!

Had a nice TD run. Random update. I wasn't "following" UT recruiting a lot last year. But did we let this kid walk, to make room for Hill?
