'12 GA RB Imani Cross (Nebraska Commit)

I am constantly amazed at the comments about Cross. The staff obviously told him to look around early in the process. If you watch Alden Hill's tape, saw his physique and knew he was faster than Cross - why would you want to keep Cross and why would Cross want to come?

Good luck to Imani. Seemed like a good kid and a good prospect. He was nothing but respectful when talking about UT.

I agree. He could have given us down the road to the media, but instead have several extremely classy interviews. Good luck to him, IMO.

Glad we kept Hill. Nothing against Imani, but I think Hill is more the natural shoulder down, head up type player that CJG can really work with.

Thanks for posting jmoore. IMO, he still seems kind of slow, similar to what some people were complaining about in his junior highlights. The guy is huge and runs with a lot of power. However, JMO, but with his lack of real speed and cutting ability, he could have made a pretty good LB.

I agree Lynx. I was upset when we decided to let Cross go but after watching those highlights I think the staff made the right decision. If you watch Alden Hills film you can easily see he has more speed than Cross shows & he is about the same size, & we def. upgraded w/ Bourque by far!

I also agree w/ you that Cross could have made a good LB, especially a ILB in a 3-4 scheme.

All in all I think we came out of it on the better end.

I do hope Cross has a great career at Nebraska though, really enjoyed following his recruitment.

Not every RB needs to posses blazing 4.3 speed to be great. I'll not judge, and let time speak for itself here in a few years.

I liked Cross alot and I think fans get overly concerned with having a back who can run a 4.2 and take it 80+ yards. Alot of great RBs average 5 yards a carry and a RB who runs a 4.5-4.6 can get the job done. An 18 yard carry while breaking 6 tackles looks just as good from a 220lb back as a 30 yard run from a 170lb scatback who gets the corner. JMO

I agree... I'll take the Legarrett Blount PUNISHING type runs every day and twice on Sunday.. My favorite type of back (Earl Campbell all time favorite).. Big guys move the chains and eat clock...
