Are they still saying that? Thought they sobered up lately.
Saturday I was talking to a Vandy Fan.
Vandy Fan: you mad (about Jelks)
Me: Not really
Vandy: You guys offered him.
Me: We offer a lot of people. We only have about 6 spots left and he wasn't first in line for any of those spots. If later there was was a spot left for him, sure we would have taken him but not a huge loss.
Vandy: Typcial Vol fan, Franklin may not be out recruiting Dooley but he is out recruiting him in Tennessee.
At which point I was so stupefied by that comment I just walked away. Do they think that you should recruit a 3 star player in Tennessee over a 4 star in Georgia, which is in many cases closer to Knoxville than the school in Tennessee?
It is O'Brien
Thunder -- an OT question.
In the back of my mind (a quite dark and dingy place) I seem to remember that Rivals only partially counts JUCO players based on how many years they have left to play. Is that the case?? If so, how much would players like Autry, Patterson, and Jacobs help us?
Before the comments come, I completely understand that how much they end up helping us on the field is far more important than how much they help us in the rankings, but top rankings are good for the public perception of our program so they are worth paying attention to.
Thanks in advance for your reply, Thunder...
