'12 JUCO PG Fabyon Harris

I don't have too much pride to admit that I was wrong like some do on here(such as UT IE 95). As I said if maymon turns into a starting SF, and that draymond green type of player I'll gladly eat my words.

To be honest, I hope that I'm wrong and maymon turns into that type of player. If we could play him at the 3, and he was as effective there as he is at the 4, we're much better IMO. You then have stokes getting all his minutes at his position, maymon getting most his at sf, and Kenny and yemi each getting good minutes at C. Trae at PG, and then a mass competition at SG, which hopefully someone will come out of as a clear cut 2. If this all happens we're a much better team and as i said will gladly praise you for it. The bigges question obviously is maymon though, to be that guy he has to do major work. Shot needs to improve, ball handling, passing, decision making, lateral quickness, and endurance are just a few, that's asking a lot of him in on offseason. If he pulls it off I'll be thrilled because well immediately be better.

Is this in reply to me? Not sure I have ever let anger build up on these boards, let alone unleash it. Nice try to stir the pot though.

Zans if it was meant for you I'm in no way offenses or angered, kind of glad you brought it up, another basketball topic to discuss in this downtime.

Throughout the year we conversed a lot and you rpi math and things like that we're always great, and I thought you were one of the better posters. I'm not taking you bringing this up as stirring the pot at all fwiw

How is what you just typed any different from what I typed way back at the beginning of February?

From what I gathered what you said back then was that given his current skill set, you would start him at the 3, but recommend he work on things. That's where we disagree.

I think with his current skill set he may see a few spots here and there at the 3 but not his primary position as i took it you were saying.

However, if he does the things I mentioned and can become that draymond green type, then yes I could see maymons position becoming SF. Much like trae at PG, if maymon is going to have a NBA career it most likely will be at SF, so it'd be in his best interest to really work on it.

I was trying to get a gauge on volinreallife. Troll or no troll as it were. His two posts seemed disconnected and since he didn't quote anyone I was just trying to see what was going on.

I still think that my original post said what you are saying now (ignore the last flippant paragraph of my OP. it was meant as a dig at how Tatum was playing at the time). But, that's water under the bridge I guess. Since this is Harris' recruiting thread I will drop it and let this thing get back on topic.

No big deal as I said this time of year I'm all for any bball talk. If that was what you meant then I apOlogize and I agree. My stance is, as maymon stands hell probably play the same spots as last year and a few spurts at SF.

However, if he does those things we mentioned and more importantly show CCM that he can guard the 3, then I could see him getting a starting spot there.

As you said, and muh of my reasoning with wanting Fabyon, youd like to get your best 5 out there if possible. If we can put maymon at the 3(this assuming he's become that guy), and insert Kenny at the 5 or even Yemi, we become a much better team IMO.

Those may be the 2 biggest story lines/questions....
1. Can jordy emerge as the player he can be
And
2. Can Maymon expand his game and play the SF position.

If both those things happen we are much better IMO, and the biggest question mark then becomes trae, and I can live with that.

I agree on McRae. I am a big fan of McBee but I also understand that McBee started over McRae because of hustle and effort. Not talent. For this team to be really good McRae has to take Skylar's minutes from him. As long as McBee starts it means McRae still isn't putting it all together.

Very very true.

For that reason I'd like to see maymon at the 3 also. It's creates a mass competition for the 2 spot. Jordy knew he could see time at the 2&3 last year, but if maymons the starting 3 that changes. Maybe competing with mcbee, Richardson, Moore, Edwards, chievous and Reese for 1 spot will really make McRae push it.

Not sure if it was in that thread or not, but I suggested playing Maymon at the 3 too, and was chastised over his inability to guard opposing 3's. If he turns into a Draymond Green-type player, I hereby declare a second dose of crow be served to BTO...haha. Just kiddin. One helping is enough.

Serve it up, if you read that thread I wasn't the only one shooting down the idea though haha.

As I said I'll gladly eat crow if he turns ink draymond green. IMO that'll mean that we probably are a helluva team next year, and I'll gladly eat crow of it means we're having a great year!!!

Yeah, if Maymon turns into Green we'll be too busy winning to worry about who's eating crow and who's not.

We will be better this year, but to be significantly better we got to have better guard play than last year. I'm talking MUCH better guard play.

I agree! The thing is where's the great guard play going to come from? I mean Edwards might be an upgrade over Tatum??? McBee COULD be our knock down 3 shooter. McRae and Richardson have a long ways to go offensively. I mean the only guard we have that can penetrate is Golden. Reese IMO, and I hope I come to regret saying this, looks like a player to fill Woolridge's place on the bench. Moore is 6-5 G who is poss to be able to play PG some, and he can't be any worse then Washpun. We just got a lot of work to do, and a lot of could bes/ifs.

If Edwards can make 3 fewer WTH plays a game than Tatum, he's an immediate upgrade.

I don't know. I always like it when a player leaves his feet with the ball and no idea what he's going to do with it next. It adds a little suspense to the game that other teams just don't have. :p:p:p

Haha. True. Few teams had what we had in that aspect.

Probably cause they dont have obama to organize the community

wow, so for one of your first 20 posts you decided to make an off-topic, drive-by, political stab? Welcome to VolNation! You should fit right in.

But seriously, keep that kind of stuff on the football board. They are more likely to give you the kind of reaction I think you are really looking for. :eek:k:

Not too much of a surprise.

Definitely our best chance at major improvement for next season, hopefully all the guys really progress. Mainly trae.

That ends that.

Yeah. I was pretty much convinced when Moore said he'd be signing on the 11th it was the end of our recruiting class for 2012.

Looking forward to seeing Moore play in Italy.

Pretty dumb that incoming freshman can go to Italy and participate but Stanton can not. Ridiculous.
