'12 JUCO RB Marion Grice

A&M won't get Shabazz, I don't care if he comes visits your school eight times. End of story. He will go to Kentucky or Duke. On top of that Tennessee is a top 40 all time winning b-ball program, A&M not in the top 50, so put that one down in your record books.

Regarding Grice, I have no idea what's going to happen, but I don't like our chances. In regards to A&M, not offering a kid until he meets him sounds like something Sherman would do. His stupidity will be demonstrated again this weekend after Petrino lights you guys up.

You can find out a lot about the recruit by talking to their coaches, guidance counselor, parents and so forth. I honestly don't know if this kid will make his Tennessee visit. If he is having transportation problems from Brenham to College Station, I can't imagine the problems he will have to get to Knoxville. Wish we still had Willie MG on payroll to cut him a check. He loves hosting Texas running backs.

the school pays for travel expenses on official visits, not unofficial visits. WMG paid for an unofficial visit, iirc.

your right with A&M not having a top 50 bball program, but we have made the tourney the past 6 years and Shabazz loves coach Cyp. we are a long shot to get him, but to say we have no chance is wrong

We are losing our starting senior running back and will only have two true freshman and sophomores on our team. If he wants immediate playing time then he needs to come here. Dooley should be pushing really hard for this one IMO.

"Grice, the nation's No. 5 overall junior college prospect, certainly lived up to that billing in a 31-26 victory over No. 1 Navarro College. The big 6-foot, 215-pound running back tallied 157 yards and a touchdown on the ground. For a bigger back he showed very good agility and lateral movement. He also has surprisingly good breakaway speed. He is not afraid to play physical, though, as he excelled between the tackles. He also had the hit of the game when he leveled a defensive lineman along the sideline. His running style should make him an immediate contributor next year at a school that needs a hard-nosed back." -Rivals

I wish the staff would be on him harder. We need him badly to complete the team for next year. IMO

Arkansas is in the mix heavy for Grice as well.

Hasn't been much on our end about Grice, but it appears we want him though, even though I don't agree with bringing in another RB this year with returning all, but one RB next year and one commit in the 2012 class.

Arky returns Davis, Wingo, and Johnson who will all be Sr's
I doubt a Juco wants to get involved with that mess.

TN returns Lane who will be a sophomore with minimal carries.

A&M makes much more sense. He is a Aggie imo.
They lose Gray and can sell him on a Michael Grice 1/2 punch.

Don't forget about Neal and Tom Smith.
UT is also bringing in two running backs in this class already which may not deter Grice.

Neal is a WR and Smith isn't scaring anybody off, if Cross sticks it out that might be the only competition in his mind.

Grice would compliment Lane very well. That would be our #1 and #2. Cross would be #3.... at least to start the season.

I think Tom Smith will end up transferring or switching positions at least.... someone like UCF or FIU.

I also don't think Cam Clear lasts much longer at TE. Especially if we bring in Price or Meredith.

lol wut. based on?

ATM isn't going to let him get away. They know they need to stockpile players to compete in the SEC. It would have been nice to get him though.
