Interesting... Could be that we moved on cause of grade issues and he isn't an EE anymore? Him coming in the spring was a big part of his appeal wasn't it? I know he's a stud but if he has to learn the playbook in the fall then the difference between him and some other stud wrs we have coming gets smaller. IMHO that's all.

Sounds about right.

As far as the Knoxville discussion goes, I was raised in Knoxville, but have lived in Virginia, south Louisiana, Greenville, SC, and then North Louisiana and have spent a fair amount of time in alot of the southeast including Athens, Auburn, Dallas, Tuscaloosa, Atlanta, etc. I'll take Knoxville over any of them. Perfect size, weather, proximity to the mountains, more to do then the podunck towns and not so much to where you have terrible traffic ie Dallas or Atlanta.

I lived there for 3 yrs....let's just say i'm glad i'm back in Nashville.

I will say that Knoxville is not a bad city to start a family.

Gotta have some friends or Knoxville will suck. Not big enough to be a singles city, but campus life/the fort is cool and if you know enough people there is always something going on.

I have been in Knoxville most of my life, was raised here.

If your only experience with this town is on the hill around the college life ... well I would care much for it.

I live on the bad side of knoxville (South) and love it .. wish everyone could be so blessed... JMHO

Right down Chapman Hwy from you on the Sevier County side of Seymour, Coastypop! Would not trade it for any place else in the SEC for sure. The next best would be between Athens, Oxford and Fayetteville IMO. And yes, I have been to them all.

UT and the city are working on redevelopment of the campus area. Over the next 10 - 15 years it will really take off.

Lots of singles in Downtown. Don't know when you went to school, but if you graduated before 03, downtown probably sucked. There has been a lot of improvements in the last 7-8 years.

As someone who grew up in the Knoxville area, I will say it has improved a ton in the last 4-5 years. Downtown and Market Square have gotten a ton more lively and have many more options than there used to be. The strip may be more of a ghost town than it once was, but the strip was really never that great anyway. I would have loved to be at UT in today's Knoxville.

I left the hallowed grounds in 94, but downtown was fairly happening back then. Just had to know where to go. Man I miss Knoxville.

Yeah going to Old City where BW3s and Sullivans was back in the day was cool. It's been a few yrs since I've been back to Kville, but downtown was pretty nice compared to when I was there. It wasnt a "know where to go" type situation anymore.

I will admit I wan't a fan of some of the upgrades they did, and not a fan of them moving The Rock across the street from where it was. Also, didn't they change Glockers name? Not cool. Als, I haven't seen the finished product but don't think I like the idea of the condos across the river from Neyland.

How dare they change glockers name to haslam building?

I don't really want to wade through here so can someone explain how we this guy was pretty much a sure thing and now all of a sudden he's probably going to UGA? TIA

Isn't a definite answer and not many people know. I don't think Patterson and UT are completely finished. There is still a chance he comes to UT, but it is looking more UGA now.

The rumor is the staff was really turned off by the fact that Patterson decided he wasn't going to be an EE anymore. They had really banked on Patterson being an EE and being able to arrive a semester early, go through spring practice, and learn the playbook. Apparently Patterson didn't seem quite as appealing to the staff after they learned he wouldn't be an EE, with him being a JUCO and all.

There are also some rumors of grade concerns. I personally don't believe that UT has backed off in anyway. I think UT probably isn't quite as interested after learning Patterson won't be an EE, but I also highly doubt UT has stopped recruiting him.

Thank you good sir :hi:

Even Georgia fans will tell you their Rivals writer is an idiot. I wouldnt use him as a source for UGA info let alone for information about what UT is doing.
